Is anyone doing end of the year gifts?
I'm thinking about mailing a gift card to DS's teacher. I'm not sure what to do for DS's daycare provider. She's a solo in-home provider and I feel really bad that she lost a ton of income. I have thought about just sending her a check, but I'm not sure if she would accept it. Maybe just gift cards for local restaurants or Target?
I gave each teacher a Dunkin Donuts gift card. It was kind of a last minute cop-out gift compared to what I'd usually do, but I know it will go to good use and I figured it avoided the whole issue of people not being comfortable with packages/items coming into their homes.
We got DD's teacher a copy of DD's favorite book add to the classroom collection (and hopefully her girls enjoy it at home in the short-term), a bottle of wine, and a Target gift card, all of which we plan to deliver to her house this weekend.
DH with some help from DD made her teacher an intarsia wooden owl as her teacher has her classroom decorated in owls and the class name was owls stars. We also went down last weekend and did a down of sidewalk art and shout outs to all the teachers so that when they did the car parade last week they could see it. From what I got from DD's teacher it had a lot of teachers super happy and teary eyed.
Our school does a pool for all staff members. You just donate online, they put your name on a list, and the pool is divided up. Easy peasy. I will probably send letters too.

Our class took donations at the beginning. Of the year and used them to cover holiday, teacher appreciation, bday and end of year gifts. We did several gift cards and it was a good amount from the class so we didn’t do anything more.

We emailed amazon gift cards. Since I'm the room mom, I also had all the kids in our class make signs that say "Thank you" and then I compiled those photos together in a slide show video with the song "Thank you for being a friend" from the Golden Girls.
I am not pinteresty at all but it made me cry looking at all their sweet little face with that music playing.
