We are driving down to see my mom this Friday and I need some sort of distraction for the boys. DS1 gets car sick so he can’t watch movies or look at anything while the car is moving.
I’m hoping to find some longer audiobooks or books with short stories that are age appropriate so I don’t have to change the book for them every 15 minutes.
DS listens to Audio books every night before bed. He has listened to the Stella Batts series all the way through about 5 times. He also likes the Mr. Men collection and Missy pigglewiggle. He has a kindle fire and Amazon Freetime and chooses his own books.

On audible the Henry Huggins books (by Beverly Cleary) come bundled so it is looooong. We’ve been listening for weeks - my 5 year old is loving them. We will probably do the Ramona books next

My daughter liked Magic Treehouse at that age, and I got some that had a few books on one audiobook.
Both girls liked Laurie Berkner’s Song and Story Kitchen— the stories are not too exciting, but they include her songs, which my kids liked and which broke things up.
You can also get a number of the Disney 5 minute story anthologies on Audible— again, the stories are kind of meh but they aren’t too long and there is variety without having to change them.
My older daughter got into Harry Potter 1 at about 5.5– not sure how much she understood, but she liked the voice and we later watched the movie. She started it through read alouds at her preschool, though, and her teacher explained a lot of it. She is not super sensitive and understands fiction vs. reality, so other kids may find it too scary. I also know that JK Rowling sucks in a way that I didn’t know about a year ago, and I don’t know if I would introduce it now knowing what I do.
We started audiobooks with Ramona and now my oldest listens to a lot of Boxcar Children. Make sure to check your library- we can get tons of kids audiobooks with Libby

Oh and my kids love love love the Story Pirates Podcast.
My DS started with Ramona Quimby and Henry Huggins series for audiobooks (we get them all through the library and then I transfer to his little MP3 player). Charlotte’s Web is a popular read aloud for kindergarten book so that would probably be good too.
My kids also are obsessed with the National Geographic podcast called Greeking Out. I won’t lie, I like it too. It’s a cute fun intro to Greek mythology.
Thanks, guys! Great suggestions. Our library has a few of these available and I'm going to check the other library I have a subscription to tonight. I'll check out some of the podcasts too.

Andrea Beaty (Ada Twist, Rosie Revere, etc) has a few chapter books that we’ve gotten on hoopla. My 6 and 3 year olds enjoy listening to them on car rides. They also really like the Marge in Charge series by Isla Fisher.
