The Chinese government is taking draconian measures to slash birth rates among Uighurs and other minorities as part of a sweeping campaign to curb its Muslim population, even as it encourages some of the country’s Han majority to have more children.
Even as we celebrate SCOTUS’ decision on abortion, this is what’s happening in China. Despicable.
When I think of my two Uighur students from when I was in China, this all makes me so angry and hurts so much. It’s such a beautiful land and culture, and what the Chinese government is doing is so truly horrific.

It’s so heartbreaking. I don’t understand why it is so hard to see others as deserving of the same basic rights and respect as humans.
When I extrapolate this out, it’s why we have such a hard time with getting immigrants and minorities from some communities to trust us as medical professionals. I realize this is government run, but it’s medical workers preforming a lot of the acts of trauma and terrorism on these families. It’s wrong and immoral.

Sadly im entirely unsurprised.
Someone asked why it's so hard to see people as people
I ask this daily. My local group is full of hatred for Rohingya. It hurts my heart. I was told I just don't get it because I'm American. Not being evil is now an American thing? I thought we started all wars. I can't keep it straight
The article also mentions that forced labor is suspected of being used to produce athletic apparel for US companies.
This is all absolutely unconscionable.
I am having serious reservations about buying anything made in China at all (but oof, I've been trying for years and for some products that's just impossible). What else can be done?
