I love HoneyMilk soaps. I am Royal is my favorite so far. I got H some body wash (he can't handle soap, lol) and has yet to try it but it smelled amazing.

This is owned and ran by Tanya from War and Treaty. She specializes in vintage attire and looks. She also designs tshirts. I will be ordering one tomorrow.
Wanted to plug this store again - the sweet owner could use some community support.
And if you’re near Essex County NJ, this bakery is wonderful. I *think* she may ship, too, depending on what baked goods you want: www.willowandolivia.com/
Not gifts, but HoneyPot is a Black owned feminine hygiene product company. I use their menstrual cup and DD uses their pads. You can buy them at Target, but I generally buy straight from the website thehoneypot.co/

I LOVE their intimate wash. It's basically water, apple cider vinegar, and colloidal silver, and it's in a foaming pump. I swear it's cut down on odor issues and I have zero irritation.

@ My friend has just published her first children's book. She is wonderful and her book is just lovely. Its about a little Black girl named Tye and her relationship with her dad, and how he fosters her dreaming.

I apologize if this is already in here, but I recently found about www.kidochicago.com It’s a great black owned kids store in Chicago. She’s got a great selection of books and awesome toys.
Do you happen to know if any of the these sellers have bamboo yarn? I’ve been looking at a bunch of the sites but I don’t see it yet. I’m buying it as a gift so I don’t really know how common it is to find with independent sellers vs a big store.
I didn't actually purchase any of this on Tuesday. It's just shops I've bought from in the last couple of months.
Bumping this because I've since ordered from all the companies I wanted to try. Highly recommend both Soap Distillery and Bohicket Apothecary. Soap Distillery is really great for gifts, since the scents are kind of a novelty. Great quality stuff. I like Bohicket a ton and that will probably become my new go-to for bar soaps and shampoos. I've been really happy with everything and her soap bars are a little larger, so better value.
I got a planter from Sample Haus and love it. She is doing a shop update early next month, I think. You kind of have to work to snag something. Her stuff is pretty popular from what I can tell.
I also tried to buy something from Not Work Related and will absolutely be trying again when she does her shop update. I really want a grid planter.

Are you looking for 100% bamboo? (and, does it have to be bamboo, or are other non-wool options OK?)
It's a difficult fiber to dye, so you're more likely to find bamboo at shops that carry major yarn manufacturers - HiKoo has a couple bamboo blends that might fit what you are looking for.

Thanks for responding - I really don’t know, to tell you the truth. My sister knits and made MH a winter hat a few years ago. MH recently mentioned that he’d like another one, and Sis agreed to make it for him if I can send her the yarn. MH mentioned bamboo yarn and I know nothing about it but I’m looking for it, to arrange the whole thing as a surprise Christmas gift for him.
I don’t think the bamboo yarn thing is a “must” for him. If I can support a small business by buying yarn that’ll make a suitable winter hat, and have it shipped to Sis, I’m satisfied. If you happen to have any recommendations I would really appreciate it!

Bamboo is not a yarn I would recommend for a hat - it wouldn't be very warm (it's a bit like cotton - good for warmer weather items). I'd usually recommend going with a wool, or, if you want fancy, going with a wool blend that includes silk or cashmere.
Something like this: neighborhoodfiberco.com/collections/capital-luxury-sport (this is from one of the vendors on the spreadsheet you linked, listed as black-owned, and is US-based for faster shipping, and is a weight between sock and worsted weight, so it won't be quite as bulky as a worsted weight hat, but won't take as long to knit as a sock/fingering weight hat might take...) You should be able to get a typical hat out of one skein, if you want a slouchy hat, I'd grab two skeins.

If there are any Phish/TAB fans, Trey wore this cute mask from a black-owned Etsy shop. I just ordered one for H and I, but they have tons of good stuff.
