Our licensing guidelines say that kids should be masked if their parents request it, but it’s not required. DS2’s preschool will be following these guidelines and my guess is that none of the children returning in August and September will be wearing masks.
ETA: All teachers and staff will be wearing masks and parents are not allowed inside the school.

Our small church preschool with under 10 kids in class is not requiring masks for students this fall. Teachers will wear them. However, our state goes under a mask mandate today so I don't know if that affects childcare centers/preschools.

We are required to provide a clean mask daily for DS (3) at our daycare, and he is strongly encouraged to wear it except for meals and during outside play. This is their policy for all kids 2 and up.
DD (5) attends YMCA camp and they are mandatory for all children (and adults) at camp.
Honestly, I feel more comfortable sending them back with the mask requirements in place, even though I was pretty unsure if either of my kids would be on board when I first heard about it. It has turned out to be a non-issue since all their peers are wearing them too.

Same. While MA guidelines are 2+ are "strongly encouraged", DS' (3) teacher seems very strict about it and my impression is it's because she's driving down to the city from rural NH and is a bit scared (I don't blame her!). Regardless, all the kids wear masks inside, are sitting in spaced out hula hoops when in the classroom, and spend a ton of time outside. It is definitely making me more comfortable.

Following along. I’m struggling get the right fit with a mask for my 4 year old. Everything seems too loose around the ears. I’m working on getting her used to it before returning to day care and preschool, if held, this fall.
What are you using for the kids that are in between a toddler and youth size mask? I’ve done a few homemade ones, but they are never the right size and I don’t want to buy more for the same issue. I am not crafty at all.

Daycare put a knot in the ear loops of my daughter’s mask. It makes the earloops shorter and better able to fit snug on her face.
I bought some child disposable masks on Amazon that has dinosaurs on them. They are soft and comfy. ...I wear them.

We bought some off of Amazon that have these tiny black rubber bands. Smaller than braces rubber bands (like, they barely fit over the tine of a fork). You can put them on the ends of the ear ties to tighten it up and make the loop smaller. You could see if you could buy just those tiny rubber bands to see if they'd work with the ones you have?
We tried tying knots in the loops but they wouldn't sit nicely behind our ears then.
ETA: These are the ones we bought off of Amazon. Each comes with two of the bands to make the ear loops smaller, as well as two 2.5 ppm filters to fit in the filter pocket.
