Before the pandemic we made the decision to remodel our primary bathroom because the shower plumbing had to be replaced and there was no good way to access it. We waited as long as we could but finally had to start because the shower drain was leaking rusty water onto the ceiling below.
I’m a little nervous about having workers in the house but I’m so excited to have a nice new bathroom.
Before - everything except the vanity top was original from the 1960’s
After demo - I can’t believe an entire bathroom fits in this space

That stinks that you were forced into a renovation, but I hope it turns out nicely. We are in the process of doing our kid's bathroom right now. I can't wait until it's finished.

I hope it turns out very well. I know what you mean about feeling a slight discomfort about having workmen in your home. Mine have been very respectful and distancing.
They’re storing all the materials in our carport and I just saw that they have bright white PVC edge trim. I’m afraid that’s not going to look good with our off-white wall tile, but I don’t know what would look better. So we need to figure that out.
carmenere our bathroom tile is all greige and they used white pvc edging on it as well. I think it was the only workable option and it doesn’t bother me since the tub, sinks, toilet and window trim are all white as well. I would worry that an off-white trim would look dirty somehow. DH would have preferred the stainless steel trim, but we didn’t really get a choice.
Here’s a pic. Please note that the grey wall colour will be changed out this year. We had to choose one colour for the entire house.
We are doing our bathroom right now too and are also using the white edging on the tile. We also have white trim throughout so it looks fine. We could have used the bullnose tile all around, but I like the cleaner look of the edging.

Our contractor said the same thing about off-white trim, and said metal trim can get dented. Our trim is only on the outer edges of the shower tile next to the drywall, so he said they can paint it the same color as the wall. Once the walls are painted we'll see how it looks and decide whether to paint the trim.
I’m kind of regretting our choice of wall tile. We had originally picked out real marble tile, but later we decided we needed to cut some cost so we can put more money in our emergency fund. Then when the drain started leaking we had to schedule work asap, so our decisions were kind of rushed. We don’t plan to stay in the house for long, so I can live with it.
The bathroom is 90% finished! There are still a few things left but I am so glad to have a functional bathroom and not have workers in the house every day.
The glass shower door we picked is back-ordered so we’ll have to put up a shower curtain in the meantime. We’re also waiting on a new exhaust fan and shelves for the vanity niche, and H is going to replace the outlet and switches.
ETA: I don’t know why it looks so dark in the pictures but it feels really bright and clean.
It’s finished! We waited weeks for the glass shower door and it finally arrived, and the guys came out to finish a few other things. I’m so glad it’s finally done.
