My very sweet and helpful daughter opened and sorted all the packages for me. I think that I have matched all the tags and who sent what, but it took me a few days and I may have gotten it wrong. If so, please feel free to correct me. Thank you everyone for your generosity. My kids have been helping me out together hygiene kits to hand out with meals and they are very excited. This is going to be such a huge help to my students and their families!

Super big thank you to the poster who signed things “GBCN”, who sent 40 (!) deodorants, 2 multipacks of socks and huge assortment of flair pens. Bonus, a giant box of individually wrapped sour punch straws. I’m already known for having a treat drawer and this is going to up my game. If this was you- let me know!
On a personal note, I am super excited about the flair pens. They are my favorite for writing on files and Health Room cards. I color code everything and these are the best for keeping everything straight. With 900 students and over 300 active health conditions it’s a lot to keep straight.

TR was kind enough to send 10 deodorants and 15 rolls of coban. Coban is probably my most used supply and it makes first aid so much easier in the Health Room. Thank you!

Thank you so much melmel48 for the men’s socks. Outdoor hallways in the PNW was a poor choice for school design. Clean and dry socks can really change a day.

I'm super excited to see the reaction of the girls when they see the adorable socks that sadlebred sent. They will also be happy that the Health Room will be stocked with the large box of tampons!

Thank you to the poster whose first name starts with a “W” who sent a multi pack of girls underwear and a 2 pack of leggings. They seem ordinary, but they are super meaningful in a stressful situation.

To the sweet farmvillelover, thank you so much for the 15 chapsticks. Brand matters when it comes to lip balm, especially in the winter. This will make life more comfortable and is so much better than a q-tip dipped in vasoline!

I mostly lurk but I have a couple of Donors Choose projects to help me get books for an Ethnic Studies class that is new to my school. Al projects on Donors Choose will receive a 50% match tomorrow (August 11) and my project for “Just Mercy” is actually being matched by the author and his foundation. That book is also being ordered through a Black-owned bookstore too.
Here is the link for copies of “Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You”. I’m hoping to use this as an anchor text to help students learn about systemic racism. br] My other project is for copies of “Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption”.
Thank you in advance for whatever help you can provide!

I just found out about the Donors Choose match tonight and posted about it on CE&P. I wish I’d known about it sooner so I could spread the word more!

Oh bummer! I follow them on social media to increase my chances of seeing them! I did get both of my projects funded though!
TR was also awesome and sent highlighters and pencils that will be added to the students' supply kits my coworker and I are delivering to our caseload students! Thanks a bunch!

lexus That’s awesome! What a great project. I took a look at it and realized my kids are in the same huge district. Their school projects weren’t even close to being funded yesterday afternoon and now almost all are fully funded! I’m glad our PTO posted about Donors Choose on FB. I’m not a teacher, but we moved back here after flooding in TX and people on this board were so generous to us. I’m always trying to pay it forward.

Thank you Queen Dick, Hibernating Bear for the gloves and book. The gloves are much needed so I can handle books that need to be checked in and quarantined, and the book is one that I felt was a must have for social-emotional skills.
Thank you so much for the letter lacing beads! You made my night!
I had an exhausting day of a 3 hour staff zoom where the admins in charge pretty much kept saying they can get away with what they want to, followed by a 3 hour parent zoom where the district kept making it sound like a safety fairytale wonderland, followed by an email with our union.
When I finally left the computer to start getting ready for bed, my kids told me there was a package for me. I opened it and they wanted to know who Dick Move is:)
And now they are adding to our 2020 list of things that happened: "And then mom got a present in the mail from someone named Dick Move."
What a great time for someone to do something nice. Seriously, thank you.
P.S. If anyone thinks it's too late to send something to teachers, it's not. Teachers are heading into a whole bunch of shit right about now if they weren't there already. You could make someone's day.
Can you tell them it's Ancient Greek for Supply Fairy??
You didn't steal their innocence! Their dad is a firefighter and they are 15, 13 and 10. We actually had the dick talk earlier this summer because the 10 yr old asked about the word. They seriously thought it was one of the most hilarious things that happened this summer.
