Does anyone have experience w/these cabinets? Quality?
One of the contractors we're interviewing uses them. We like this contractor but he's definitely no frills (he said we're welcome to buy higher end things if we want). These cabinets are for the mudroom, so likely to endure some wear and tear but don't most cabinets?
I also want to make sure we source a good pocket door. I've read reviews that the cheaper ones are prone to breaking. Anyone bought a pocket door from a particular company? I was thinking of going through jeld wen directly.
Bids are not in yet, I'll be sure to come back when they are!

I haven't had experience with the company. I don't know if this www.nextdaycabinets.com is their website or not... but it seems like NDC may just be a company organizes the sale of other cabinet manufacturers products. The quality is going to depend on what brand he's ordering.
For example, if I look at the specifications for Wolf brand cabinets, it appears that all of their cabinets have solid plywood sides, back and drawer bases. Looking at Norcraft, you can see they have 3 lines - pivot is the least expensive 'economy' line and their basic cabinets are going to include particle board in the sides & drawers. If you want better quality, you have to upgrade, which is going to be more.
If it's only for a mud room, plywood sides are probably not as important. In my experience, plywood is best for situations where you will have a lot of weight on a small point - ie a long pull out drawer where pots & pans are stored. Particle board lasted for all of 4 years before we had a blow out. None of the other cabinets had that problem, so particle board isn't a deal killer IMO.
