On Friday afternoon, 7/17 I arrived at the hospital to start my induction. I know that inductions have a bad rep, but after talking with my Dr and reviewing the Arrive trial ( evidencebasedbirth.com/arrive/ ) it was definitely the option for me. I am more than happy to answer any questions about my induction experience.
I arrived at the hospital at 1cm dilated and not very far along. It was a long process, and we decided to have the doctors break my water on Saturday night. I waited until the contractions were too painful for me, and I got an epidural. I still needed to get fully dilated, and there was a small ridge along the right-side of my cervix. I chose to lay on my right side until it was time to push.
I ended up pushing for 3-hrs and 15-min early on Sunday morning. Baby G was born at 7:46am on 7/19. We had great skin-to-skin, and he nursed/attached for a bit shortly after he was born.
I had some tearing, and am currently a big fan of witch hazel pads and adult diapers. Overall I'm very happy with my L&D experience - I felt well advocated for by my nurses and H, and I felt well informed about the way my labor was treated.

Congratulations I am so happy for you...the name is super cute!
Reflecting on my own induction...it was considered failed at like 12 hours and 6 hours after water was broken...and they did a csection. I know for many like you that was allowed to go 24 to 48 hours and never had an understanding why I couldn't
Congratulations to you and your family! Welcome to baby G! So happy you feel good about your L&D experience - regardless of how others feel about inductions, etc, it really matters that you feel happy and well supported!
