Our new shower has pencil trim around the niche. The mitered corners line up perfectly on the bottom but not quite on the top. H pointed it out last night and now I can’t not see it.
I could probably live with it. But on that second picture on the top, it doesn't quite look like there's enough grout or the grout is uneven and creates a little pocket where water will collect? Could get mildewy and would be a PITA to clean. Not sure if it's just shadow or something though.
lesselRockNVoll yes that’s a problem too. The tile guy is coming back on Monday to touch up the grout so I’m debating whether to ask him to fix the pencil trim at the same time.

I honestly had to look hard to see what you were talking about, and I feel like I'm looking for a problem rather than really seeing one. Just keep in mind they'd probably have to remove at least three of the four pieces to "fix" it and you might create a different issue and/or not get a significantly better result.
If it makes you feel better, the tile job in my master shower is horrendous. We have a penny tile on the floor and in the niches and in one of the niches it's so bad that one of the "pennies" is jutting out at like a 30-degree angle like some kind of snaggletooth.
I'd ask about the grout. The joint is not perfect, but I'd say it's okay enough. You may want to ask him what/if/how they could line it up better and make a choice from there.
In our experience with our bathroom reno, every time they "fixed" one thing, they also screwed something else up in the process.
I’m not even sure that is reasonabley fixable, not without ripping out a bunch of tile and making a huge mess. Like RockNVoll said, the fix may not be better, and you could end up with worse. Having done tile showers, I would totally not worry about it. Maybe a bit of extra grout to round the corner.
Thanks everyone. I’ll ask if there’s anything easy they can do, otherwise let it go. They’re coming to touch up the grout and finish installing fixtures on Monday and then hopefully the bathroom will finally be finished.
