I was pointing out that Derpy is wrong. It sounds like H (cah) not W (caw) plus that's not right either. CAH for car is one of 2 things: a long A sound or a dropped R. Thank you for coming to my Intellectualization.
Listen, I knew it wasn’t CAW but couldn’t think of it, thank you for your HELP, DICK.

Shavonda Gardner had like a three day discussion on IG a week or so ago over how this is pronounced. People from GB, Australia, all over were sending videos and voice memos of how it’s “supposed” to be pronounced.
All of em were different, lol.
She decided no one really knows because it’s different everywhere.
She’s a great follow on IG. I love her garden and house.
I read on a bottle once that you can just call it "woozy" and skip the whole debate. I don't say it that way but I DO write it that way on lists because I spell for shit and I like my lists compact.

The city in question is Worcester, England, in the county of Worcestershire, not the one in Massachusetts.
I don't know how to type the difference in how I'd say them though because really, I'd type both as WUSS-ta, but one I'd say like I was in Good Will Hunting and the other I'd say with an English accent, and that makes them sound different, the "tah" is more closed in the English version but not quite as closed as "ter". So yeah, the sauce is WUSS-ta-shur. And now my brain is broken from sounding it out so many times.
Struggled my whole life to pronounce this fucking condiment. Met my H and while we were cooking he called it Lea and Perrins. I was like, you mean I don't have to sound ridiculous?
I grew up with worst-er-shur, but a few years ago learned that it was more like woosta-shur(or shire?), so I stumble through all of the above with a 'however you say it' thrown in for good measure.

It's been Lea and Perrins ever since
That's exactly what I've called it my whole life. Lol
I am too!!! I LOVE the Paw Sox. McCoy stadium is the best 😭
It’s 5 mins from my house. 😭 And let me tell you I’m not going all the way to Worcester to see an amateur baseball game. That magic is only fun in a rundown old Fenway Park wannabe in your old mill town, not a shiny new expensive stadium. 🙄
Wuss-tah-sure sauce...or I’ve heard the last part like Cher or Shire the way you say New Hampshire. How was the Cane’s sauce? I wanted to make it recently but didn’t have any Worcestershire sauce in the house. They finally have Canes in near where I live, but it still not convenient, like 45 minutes away.

My nana had a thick southie Boston accent. Born in 1916 and pretty much never left the neighborhood her whole life except to visit us in Florida, and I have census records showing many generation lived in the same parish. I wish I could have heard her say this. Much mirth would have ensued.
As it was I could barely understand potato. Came out pa nae nae somehow
