QOTW: If you could have an unlimited amount of something, what would it be? (It can't be money, and you can't give away/exchange/sell any of it either) Feel free to be as silly/serious as you want
Read: The Splendid and the Vile: A Saga of Churchill, Family, and Defiance During the Blitz by Erik Larson - 4 stars; non-fiction; I thought this was a really good book but it took me forever to read it because I am having a hard time reading serious topics while being 'safe at home' for 5 months. But for what the book is, I thought it was very interesting with the direct insights of diaries/journals from so many people.
Currently reading: The House of Special Purpose by John Boyne - historical fiction; this is a fictionalized tale of the Romanovs, though the main character/narrator is not a Romanov. So far I am really enjoying it, which is good because I was very put off by how bad the ending was for this same author's newest release (A Traveler at the Gates of Wisdom). So it's nice to renew my love for this author's books, minus that glaring exception.
QOTW I would pick sleep. How nice would it be to just choose how much sleep you get and when?

I finished Not Like the Movies by Kerry Winfrey. It was cute but nothing special.
I'm still working on Good Morning Monster. I have one person left to read.
I started Dark Lover (BDB #1) on audio because I'm in a romance mood.
I also am reading The Glass Hotel by Emily St. John Mandel. It's slow going because there's so many characters and jumping around. I'm having a hard time following.
QOTW: diet coke. I probably have a problem, but pamdemic is making me crave it all the time. And I'm giving in.
I’ve been reading Utopia Avenue by David Mitchell. It’s really good and I’m not sure why it’s taking me so long, because it’s not unusually heavy or dense. (It is literally heavy — it seems to be printed on thicker-than-usual paper.)
QOTW: doughnuts (preferably the magic calorie-free kind, but I’d settle for having doughnuts available whenever I wanted) or time (which would mean I’d always have time to go pick up doughnuts...)
I am about 1/3 into Mexican Gothic. It's a bit slow but I am really enjoying it.
QOTW: I want on demand access to a fancy, single serving cheese and charcuterie plate! It's my favorite thing but I rarely have someone to share it with and it's hard to have a large selection for one.
I was reading Big Summer but I gave up on it. Totally terrible book. I have been re-reading Babysitter's Club books with DD while I decide what is next.
QOTW: dairy products. I can't eat much of them without getting a giant without getting sick but I love ice cream and cheese.
I was reading Big Summer but I gave up on it. Totally terrible book.
YES! Thank you! Where is OG Jennifer Weiner? The book even had huge missed editing in it!
Finished: The Marriage Game by Sara Desi - So IMO, this was very similar to Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating, just with Indian American culture. I found the story and writing didn’t flow. I wasn’t fond of the last 1/3 of the book or the quick wrap up.
Our Way by TL Swan - I basically ignored my family all day to read this. OMG I cried the last 1/4 of this book. It will pull at your emotions, but is an honest real look at a pansexual relationship.
QOTW - Mexican Food on demand including margaritas.
I read Oona Out of Order (good) and I am reading Rodham right now. I know this book is fiction, but I am super pissed at real-life philandering Bill for making HRC feel like she wasn’t enough.
QOTW: I would have unlimited plane tickets (assuming we were living in normal times). Or cheese.
I'm still slowly making my way through Big Lies in a Small Town. We've been really busy so I don't have much time to read. Thankfully this has been an easy book to jump back into even when read in small doses and infrequently.
QOTW: Plane tickets or hotel vouchers for a nice, global hotel chain would be nice so I could travel more.
My kids and I finally finished the Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder, with The First Four years (book #9). And then I also read The Dutch House by Ann Patchett.
QOTW: If I could have an unlimited supply of anything, I’d pick trees, since they can help with the climate crisis.

I started "Before We Were Yours" because I'm late to the party. Only about 30 pages in, it's ok but not knocking my socks off yet. Maybe the subject is too close to home? Without spoiling anything, could someone confirm if the woman having trouble in labor is supposed to be a throw back to the Depression? Like their story takes place during the depression? I think there was a printing error in the first couple of chapters and it's throwing me off. Also tell me it picks up, I don't know why I find it so slow.
QOTW: Hotel vouchers and enough time off to travel a lot.
