It seems like a reasonable price for a year subscription. Most of the programs seem cardio based do they have decent strength training programs as well? Especially ones under 45 minutes?
I downloaded back in March and made it through one workout before deleting it. The format and instructors annoyed the hell out of me. I do love the Peloton app and also Les Mills if I want something more challenging.
I don’t because MLM, but I’ve been using the Kira Stokes Fit app and I absolutely love it. She has longer 30-60 minute workouts but she has a ton of shorter 10ish minute workouts that you can mix and match depending on what you want to work on that day. She’s no nonsense and gives really great cues. I swear I don’t work for her lol.

Yes, there are some strength training programs - P90X3 has multiple strength training workouts, LIIFT4 is strength straining based, and there are others as well. You might need to pick and choose but you should be able to find enough to create a good program. Most workouts are 30-45 minutes, the newer releases especially are closer to 30 minutes.
I tried it in March as well. I ended up sitting on my couch and watching the workout midway. It wasn’t so much as the workout being bad, but it just was boring. I like an in-person class with great music. I’m also lazy and need to be afraid of an instructor calling me out to put forth physical effort.

I have been using BOD since January and have lost 15 lbs.
There have to be at least 30 different programs, instructors, styles of workout on the app, so if you don't like one workout, there are so many others to try out.
I use 100 Morning Meltdown, which is 100 progressive 30 minute workouts. Some are cardio, others are weights, kickboxing, etc.
I would say 90% of the content is 35 minutes or less.
I just ordered it today. Here’s hoping I actually use it. I am planning on doing the Sean T and the morning meltdown workouts.
I love 100 MM. There is something really motivating to me about starting with #1 and working up to #100, it takes all the guess work out of what to do when. It's also nice that the trainer levels you up slowly but surely as you progress through the phases. There are some moves where I never did anything but the modifier moves, and that works fine too.
Nope. I refuse to support an MLM, especially one that preys on the insecurities of women. There are other options that are free or the same price that don’t have shady business practices.
I have a Les Mills On Demand subscription I’ve been sharing with my bff. I love it! I am a big body pump fan and when the gyms closed down I secured to try this. I don’t have all the same weights but have cobbled together hand weights and resistance bands. There’s tons of different things to try besides body pump. I’ve started this core program they have that just uses hand weights and bands in addition to body pump.

Do you have recommendations? I thought Beachbody had moved away from the MLM structure but I’m always open to better suggestions!
We have both BOD and Peloton... DH likes the strength stuff on BOD...Lift4 lately. I haven’t done any on there since I got the peloton a few months ago.
I am really like the peloton content - while there aren’t as many “programs” to follow, I find the instructors and workouts more engaging, the music is so much better too.
I did like the 80 day obsession on BOD (kicked my butt), though I agree Autumn is a little annoying. I’m probably going to cancel BOD and force DH to try Peloton strength workouts.

I realize that you might not want to support the company at all based on this and I understand and respect that, but for what it’s worth, I pay an annual subscription fee to Beach Body on Demand and have had zero interaction with anyone involved in the MLM arm of the business.
There are definitely other companies that lack the MLM arm altogether, though.

I prefer yoga, and love Yoga with Adriene on YouTube.
underwaterrhymes, I saw that the BB CEO was doing direct advertising on FB, so maybe they’re doing some of it without. However, in that case, they’re charging the same amount and the money just goes directly to the top. The MLM arm is still very much alive and active. They’ve been in full-on recruit mode on my FB page. They’re not even really selling a product on the pages, just pushing for people to “join the team.” It’s worse than ever in my feed.
Since no one mentioned it body beast is a pure strength workout on Beachbody. Some can’t stand the trainer, but he doesn’t bother me. I prefer to lift and like liift4 and also The Prep which is to train you for The Work. The prep is more metabolic, but I’ve liked it a lot. I don’t drink shakes and find the $99/year a steal. Yes there might be free programs out there, but I really like the structure and having a plan to follow.

I subscribed for a few years and have never had anyone contact me to buy shakes or the MLM aspect of it.
Beachbody's different from other platforms in that the workouts are planned for you and come with meal planning tools, as well (though I never followed that part). When you're following a program you know exactly what to do on what day. You can even download log sheets to track your progress. If you like structure this is great. Of course you can also pick & choose workouts, but their search function isn't great for doing that.
All programs I've tried are high quality, but I prefer the strength-based programs over the cardio-based ones. The P90X series is great--I prefer the original, but the workouts are long & kind of slow. I was the most fit I've ever been after finishing P90X. P90X3 classes are <45 mins. I also liked Body Beast (agree with a PP that the male trainer is kind of annoying), 80 Day Obsession, and Barre Blend though I didn't completely finish any of these. Most programs (except original P90X) are 30-45 min per class.
I subscribe to Peloton, as well, and prefer that for cardio & yoga. I don't like their strength classes as much as BOD.
While I haven't used Fitnessblender in years, I recall it having a good variety and most of it was free. If you don't need a specific program to follow you might want to try that first.

Yes I’ve used BB on demand for a year or so. I’ve done 80 Day Obsession, LIIFT4, Piyo, Barre Blend and currently doing The Work. All really solid programs with a great mix of strength and cardio, but LIIFT 4 is the most strength based of the ones I’ve done. I was incredibly strong by the time I finished it. When I did 80 DO my ass never looked better - Autumn has the best leg/butt workouts!
I had BOD for 1 year and didn't love it. I switched to Madeline Moves app - she has an IG if you want to scroll through her feed to see what her workouts are like. I also like Kira Stokes.

So you can do it without the weights they have at the gym? I used to LOVE body pump but never thought it was an option at home.
Yes, I've had it for awhile and really enjoy it. Right now I'm in week 5 of the Barre Blend Program and it's great. There are many different types of workouts and I like the variety and most videos are around 30-40 minutes.
