I'm almost at the end of my rope with TMJ pain. I've tried several different mouth guards, massage, dental procedures and other things and still have pain. I clench my teeth so hard at night I'm afraid I'm going to break them. I'm trying to think of other options to try out of desperation. Has anyone tried CBD oil for this purpose? Am I looking for something that ingest or something that is topical? Any recommendations for reputable companies?
I've used CBD oil and CBD gummies. I got a really weird headache with the oil (maybe took too much?), but the gummies help my anxiety and seem to slow me down a bit when I'm feeling manic.
I clench my jaw at night when I'm stressed, and taking a gummy seems to help me not do that. I do wake up groggy in the morning if I take it too late.
Overall, though, I'd say it's worth a try.
ETA: I've never tried topical creams. I don't know if they're helpful or not.
(I have no CBD experience but the 2 things that helped my TMJ and for me the killer headaches/jaw pain that came with it were acupuncture and lidocaine injections into my jaw)

I grind my teeth pretty severely (I’ve cracked multiple teeth — one bad enough to be pulled and one that needed a crown. I even grind through night guards!) I take CBD gummies for anxiety (Diamond CBD is my preferred brand) BUT they’re not strong enough to help with the grinding.
The only thing that DOES help is Botox. I get it in my jaw muscles and it eliminates all the pain. It costs $300 every three months but I can use FSA dollars to cover it. It’s literally saved my teeth.
No experience with the oil but the things that helped my TMJ were a chiropractor mostly. I found once that specializes in TMJ and uses an activator rather than “cracking”. She had additional training in the activator technique. My physical therapist helped as well but more with muscular pain caused by TMJ. The chiro helped put it back in place which is impossible because my disc slipped but puts it closer to where it should be.
I have tried CBD gummies for anxiety not TMJ but I got a rash from them the same that I do from NSAIDS. You are probably not allergic to them though.

What brand of gummies do you use, If you don’t mind me asking? Do you take any other anxiety meds? If you don’t feel comfortable answering here I understand!
I use Equilibria and have had great results. I no longer had TMJ symptoms when I started it, though. I had horrific TMJ for 3-4 years where my jaw cracked every time I opened my mouth. My dentist said it was the worst he’s seen. My PCP asked me to try 1 week of steroids, scheduled muscle relaxers, and soft foods. It went away completely after just a few days and hasn’t returned in years.

Do you use a topical cream or what kind of product do you use? How quickly did you see results? Were you a teeth clencher/grinder?

I don't mind at all We have Yum Yum Gummies (sours and 1000x strength). We don't take any other anxiety meds, though I do have a magnesium supplement that I take as needed (Nature Made - Calm & Relax).
