It depends on the dress, but you could do a strappy sandal, a simple pump (peep-toe or not), a pointy-toe ballet flat, a dressier ankle bootie, glitter sneakers ...
Strappy sandal with glitter or something making it a bit fancier. I wore these to a wedding in Costa Rica. They don't have them anymore because it was quite a few years ago, but I'm sure there's something like it available.

I have big, wide feet.
I personally think that if it's outdoor, it's okay to wear anything that is comfortable and safe to you. I personally think that if it's outdoor, you are under no obligation to be stylish. But that's just me.

That’s a weird and ungenerous take. What is it about an outdoor wedding, particularly in the time of Covid, that warrants less care to your attire?

I don’t think she said anything weird. Woman in particular often put fashion in front of comfort and/or safety. I think she is saying that you don’t need to wear 3 inch heels for example, especially at an outdoor event where there might be more tripping hazards. So wear what is comfortable. I’m not sure what Covid has to do with anything.

I was probably over reading.
The reference to COVID was because weddings, if they are happening, will be outdoors by necessity or by choice for the safety of the guests.
The phrase about not needing to be stylish rubbed me the wrong way, because I was reading it more broadly than relating only to shoes. I read it as not needing to worry about being stylish at all, just because the wedding was outdoors.
Both of these styles are versatile and can be worn later with jeans, skirts, shorts etc. I like to dress up jeans with something like this for date night.
