I'm getting quotes to redo the master bathroom, which has a shower in it (no tub - and no space for a tub)
The shower floor will be tile, but I'm having a really hard time with ideas. I've been on pinterest, houzz, into local tile stores, etc. I love the look of marble but worry about the extra work to install it properly and to maintain it.
Anyone care to share pictures of your shower floor tile?
I'm pretty set on white subway tile for the shower walls.
We are building and our shower is going to be 6x5, so there is no shower pan option. We went with a mosaic tile for the floor. Please keep in mind, the builder has limited options but I wanted a gray with gray grout so it wouldn't look dirty like white.
It looks great! Have you had any issues with the marble tile floor holding water, discoloring, etc.? That's what I'm afraid of - but I love the look!
We've only had it for a few weeks so I can't comment yet. When I'm done in the shower I give the walls and floor a quick spray with the hand shower to rinse off any soap.

We have a hex marble tile on our shower floor. We have only had it for a year but we've had no maintenance issues, and we never even sealed it or anything. It's from Floor and Decor, but I did go and pick out each sheet by hand. I don't have a great photo, but I'll post what I have:
that looks great! do you have any issues with the tiles looking wet? I've seen so many posts on houzz that I'm paranoid, even though that's the look I want

Not that I've noticed, although I can't honestly say that I look at the shower floor much unless I'm actually showering!
We do have a marble vanity top and I've noticed it is a little more grey at the front of the sink where I think it gets routinely wet. If the shower tiles are a little greyer-looking now than when they were installed I don't know that I'd notice, though, and it's a small enough shower that they probably get pretty evenly wet. I still color my hair upstairs, but otherwise have taken no special care of our shower floor. It's not slippery or anything. I would recommend.
We used this tile in our master bathroom, room and shower floor, with white subway tile. It's marble, but we've had it for about 18 months and it doesn't seem to be more high maintenance than anything else.
