I know this question is asked a lot and I apologize but I didn't find my answer in any earlier watch questions. I have a Garmin Forerunner 305 that I've had for 10 years. It's basically a computer on my wrist but I love it. Unfortunately the battery is dying so I need to find a replacement. I would go to a running store or REI but obviously that is restricted due to COVID. I've looked online but it's hard to filter by the features I'm most interested in, so I'm hoping you may have some recommendations. Some of my criteria:
I would like another Garmin because I've been happy with my current watch and I love using Garmin Connect.
I want this mostly for running, but also for hiking/backpacking and maybe skiing. I currently use a phone app for skiing but would love to use a watch, but my first priority is running and then hiking.
I love that I can view 4 data fields at once on my current watch. I could lower that to 3, but don't want to go lower than that.
I don't really care about smart watch capabilities. I don't need it to play music or connect to my phone.
I don't really care about tracking heart rate of calories burned
Anyone have a watch that fits the above that they love?

Funny story, I had the garmin forerunner 305 and really liked it. My apartment got broken in to many years ago, I was living with 2 other women and pretty much everything got stolen. Long story short they were able to find out who did it (a serial thief) and the only thing he hadn't pawned off/sold was my garmin forerunner 305 and my roommates really old iPod. They let me claim the garmin because the notch I wore it on had a mark, so I put it on my wrist to show the police that it fit lol. They wouldn't let my roommate claim her iPod because she didn't have a receipt or know the serial number. So that thing lasted awhile and through a burglary!
Anyway, so once I started doing triathlons I needed a watch to track swimming and biking. I upgraded to the garmin 910xt. I think it meets your specifications because I also didn't want anything super fancy like a smart watch or tracking calories. I'm pretty sure there's a setting for other activities, so I'm sure it would work for your skiing as well.

Look at the Garmin Fenix series. The new one is the Fenix 6. I have a Fenix 5s and I love it. It has more bells and whistles than you want, but the higher-end watches these days are all smart watches with HR monitors. You can turn off those features if you want (it also saves battery life). The Fenix watches were designed for both road running and ultra/trail running and hiking. They have some great features like navigation. I don’t ski, but there are ski and snowboard activities built into it, too.
I have the vivoactive 4S and I like it. It has more features than I use. I don’t use wallet and music and stuff like that. But it has skiing, trail running, running, treadmill, cardio Biking and strength plus a lot of others. I’m not a swimmer but it does water too.

Thanks all! Wines Not Whines, Ended up splurging on the Fenix 6S. So excited for it to come.
The vivoactive 4S looked great too but I like that the Fenix uses barometric pressure to calculate altitude. And the 910xt is no longer available
I did also end up buying bluetooth headphones. Figured if the watch has the music capabilities I may as well use that rather than my 10 year old iPod Nano.
I have a Vivoactive 4S, and I like it a lot. I particularly like having HR on my wrist and not needing to wear a strap, that would sometimes cause chafing at my sports bra band. The only thing is that for me, back when I was hiking a lot, I would have wanted more battery life than I think the 4S would give.
I also have a 910xt from my triathlon days (pre-kids). That thing is like a brick on my wrist, but it does basically all the things. It also has a battery life that is intended to last through IMs, so it was great when I did all day hikes. It must have some kind of successor although I have not kept up on which model that would be.
ETA: never mind I didn't read all the way through the updates to see you already decided! Enjoy
