We arrived at the hospital around 10:00pm on Monday August 17 after having another day of contractions all day long that finally organized around dinner time. Arrived 2cm dilated They gave me meds cytotec to help get contractions organized and in a pattern around 3am. Contractions started picking up throughout the day but were manageable. I decided to get in the tub around 11am.
Dr came and broke my water at 12:30 I was 4cm dilated. I joked to the doctor on his way out and said Iโll see you back in an hour to have the baby! They had a hard time getting babyโs heart rate monitored and where they wanted it so they moved my position in bed several times. By 1:00 contractions were intense and I was having to fight the urge to push. They checked again and I was 8-9cm. When the dr came back I was a 10 and started pushing. It took a few tries to get her head out then her shoulder got stuck so they lowered my head all the way down and another nurse used her body weight to unlodge her. The dr let me pull her out the rest of the way. She was born at 1:37pm. They laid her on my chest and I delivered the placenta shortly after. No epidural stitches required! Josephine Gray
Apgar 8 9 Born at 1:37 pm 7lbs4oz 20inches 14 inch head
Recovery has been great. Sheโs a pretty good BFer but needs some coaxing to latch often with a few sips of formula.
I had to laugh at her stats. (Not at HER, but my ds.) Their stats are similar. He was 7lbs 8oz, 20โ.....except his head was 18cm. LOL Every u/s it was 2-3 wks ahead of his other measurements. My kids have gigantic heads.

Oh bless you!! When the dr was all done he said letโs not grow #3 too much bigger than this one! Umm no sir that will be enough for us thank you! Dd1 was 6.4 and 18.5 inches long.
Congrats! Also I think you and cseale mean inches, not cm for head circumference. Average is like 34 cm, I want to say the biggest FOC I've measured on a newborn was around 37 or 38 cm.

LOL! Yes. Definitely inches. I donโt know where cm came from in my post. Sleep deprivation. In his u/s he had the head of a 42+ weeker.
