It's supposed to be a windy, wet and rainy weekend so I'll be finding indoor activities to do with DS at home. We may go to a pumpkin patch, but I have a feeling it will be crowded. Sunday we'll visit my parents. I have Monday off but DS has school, so I'll be organizing and getting rid of stuff while DS is doing his online school at home.
Beau and I are taking the kids to go visit my parents for the weekend. The weather is supposed to be beautiful, so we're going to do some fall outdoor activities - maybe a corn maze, maybe apple picking. The places near them are doing reservations and limiting numbers, which will be nice and manageable.
Tomorrow my brother is eloping! So while none of us will be there, we'll be celebrating in spirit with them. I'm so happy for them. In a couple weeks we'll do a dinner at my house with them to get to celebrate in person.
This is the crazy week at work as Thursday is our big deadline. This weekend we have soccer and cub scouts and tonight we will probably get chipotle and have a movie night.
We’ve decided we won’t be TOT this year and will have our own party at home alone with a candy hunt and a not too scary Halloween movie. Maybe the witches or hocus locus or something along those lines. I don’t remember them so will have to figure it out.
Well my teen is in quarantine so this weekend won’t be awesome. A lot of staying home. I’m working on cleaning up my garden in preparation to try to cover crop it for the winter. So I guess that while helping my teenager not feel like she’s in prison and help her process missing her first horse show and not being able to see her BF.
DH and my youngest are going turkey hunting so at least they will be out of my hair. Girls weekend with my girls. We will be ordering food and watching movies so that’s something at least.
We met some of our remote learning classmates at a playground today to catch up a bit. BIL is here hanging with DH and I’m just relaxing by the fire while the kids chill out in their rooms.
Tomorrow DD2 has soccer, and SIL will arrive with her kids. The adults are going to dinner while the kids stay home (my nephew is 16 and very responsible). Sunday we will probably just hang out. So hopefully fun and low key.
Hey ladies! Long time. Hope you all are doing well and surviving. We are doing ok.
Working on prof development stuff because i feel stuck where I am...I have a 2nd round interview for a VP role but i suffer from imposter syndrome like i need to get out my head.
Tomorrow big kids skateboarding at the Y in the morning, and then date afternoon for DH and me. Sunday some family tee/baseball with our pod friends.
We got supplies to ‘boo’ three friend families, too, so the kids should have fun with that.
Next week the baby is home Monday, toddler is home all week, and big kids only have half days for their two in school days because it’s (virtual) conference week. So we will try to gear up this weekend for more weekday family togetherness and work juggling than any of us would like

We're spending the weekend at a beach house we rented that also has a pool. Because of the storm surge from a storm that hit louisiana, we had lots of large shells on the beach (and some jelly fish). The water is cold but still enjoyable, the air is comfortable. So far so good on this trip!!
DS, 6, was going to spend the night with Grandma. Instead, 5 min after getting there, he jumped off the bed onto a bench, the bench toppled, and he fractured his wrist. So much for date night.
sdlaura- the ER doc said once it was splinted, it probably wouldn’t hurt. Indeed, he says it feels fine. He had Motrin at the ER and we will probably give him some Tylenol before bed so it lasts overnight. I’m so surprised. He fractured both bones! You’d think he would have some leftover pain.
mommyatty - that’s such a bummer for your DS! I’m sorry! As far as the pain, DD2 had a buckle fracture 2 years ago in a similar way - fell off the climbing structure at school. It was a buckle fracture and she cried for like 5 minutes and then finished the day at school. Once the cast was on, she never complained of pain. My understanding of that type of fracture is that only very specific motions will trigger pain - trying to twist a door knob, for example.
