Wanted to check in with other volunteers and find out what you are doing in the last couple of weeks. Mail in ballots went out here and advance voting locations open so I'm chasing ballots for my state house and rep candidates and urging folks to return their ballots or vote in person ASAP. We finished tagging doors with campaign lit earlier this week before mail in ballots went out and mailed out postcards too.
We also have a cool website in my state where you can plug in the names of your friends and see if they are registered, if they are signed up for a mail in ballot, their party affiliation, and if they are a low propensity voter (rated 0-4). I've been working through that list the last few weeks to reach out to folks and make sure they have a voting plan. It's non partisan though most friends know where I stand and which candidates I support since I talk about it nonstop these days.

Hoping for a little blue wave here in Kansas.
Hey there. Can you share this site? I am curious because I had an acquaintance leave a registration card in my mailbox before the primary, all filled out (and with rep checked). But they used the wrong last name (my husband’s), and I was a little weirded out that they did this. But maybe it’s a thing?

We are still finishing up dropping off some lit and info on early voting to our precinct. Also hoping to help call people who requested mail-in ballots and follow up on if they have returned them yet.
I've been doing phone banking twice a week for my state. I haaaaaaaaate it, but I feel like I need to do *something*. I've had some nice conversations with folks and even recruited another volunteer last shift
For people that don't know where to start: find a local candidate that you support and contact them on social media and ask what they need help with. Another option is to contact your county's political party on social media.
I have been working as a volunteer coordinator for my county's Democratic Party. I love it. I have to do most work from home because I have two young sons that are in virtual school so I can't bring them to yard sign drives, work office hours, etc. Separately, I work with a local candidate to write her thank you notes for her donations over $100.
If anyone is on the fence about volunteering, I urge you to do it. It is so empowering to work with people that have similar view points. I'm in a red stronghold and it feels defeating most of the time. My husband walks around the house and complains about Trump but I'm proud that I'm putting the angst that I feel into real work.

I find this weird too. I don’t want my friends looking into my voting info.

That is weird they filled a card out for you.
Our state’s site is called voter to voter. It is all public record info and it is non partisan program.

I can understand that. It is all public record info. Your party and which elections you have voted in.

Yes I have been volunteer coordinator for a local campaign this year and have learned a ton and met so many great people.

A couple weeks ago I was focused on voter registration. This past weekend I mailed my Vote Forward letters! I’m not sure what I’ll do this week, except I got my ballot in the mail and need to actually vote, which includes doing research and having a discussion with DH, mainly about all the state propositions.
I donated previously and wanted to donate again, but since then I started a part time job with a contractor who does primarily federal work. The questionnaire asks for employer name and asks Are you a federal contractor? This made me hesitate donating so I need to look into what is allowed.
I've been texting with Stand Up America for the last few weeks and will continue as much more of that as I can. It's been really easy to squeeze them in to my regular workday.
I phone banked for my rep as part of a get out the vote program. It felt really uncomfortable but I felt it was important to participate as I like my current rep. While this house seat has been blue for a long long time I think her challenger appeals to a largely dormant voting base and I live many people might assume all democrats are safe so dem turn out could be softer than in a region where people are fired up to protect a blue leaning seat. Weird things do happen as we've seen.
I feel like text banking might suit me better but I am such a bad texter with typos everywhere. If door knocking was an option I would consider it in a group but no one is door knocking here.

The programs I've used for texting I do on my desktop! It's through a website so you can do it on your phone, but using a full keyboard makes it sooo easy, and a lot of responses are pre-written!

With text banking, there are responses you choose and send. You don’t really need to type, you just choose the right response and it fills it in for you. sometimes I have to make minor edits for it to make sense but for the most part it’s a standard reply. Also it’s not really like normal texting on your phone. You can do it on a phone, but I do it on my computer. Give it a try!
I sent 140 vote forward letters on Saturday. Now that I’m not doing those I’ll have a little more time for something else. I’ve been text banking since the beginning of September. I will keep doing that. I’ll probably try to do it once a day assuming there are texts available. I’ve had some days I’ve tried to text but they were out of texts. I keep intending to phone bank but I hate calling people. But I’m going to give it a try.
I sent 175 handwritten “please vote” Sierra Club letters this weekend, to voters in PA, MI, NC, and AZ. I’m not sure what else I’ll do. Maybe try for a few more conversations with relatives in PA.

I'm throwing money at some more local candidates, maybe a little to Biden.
And I've been doing texts, mostly with our state party, for the last week. It's like a weird, addicting video game. The vast majority don't respond, some do and it's good, and then there are a small handful that are absolute dumpster fires of human beings.

I did the same, only far fewer letters. I planned to send more but they moved up the send date and I didn't have time to hit my goal.

This is real earlier on it’s about identifying supporters so you get a mix, now it’s about making sure supporters go vote! Not to say you’ll only have positive calls now, but the likelihood is much higher

I figured we’d be shifting to GOTV at this point, and I honestly enjoy the straight up GOTV work most of all. During the week I’m almost exclusively calling after 8-9PM EDT which means mostly Texas and Arizona voters. And honestly most of the Texas calls were pleasant, even if they are trumpers. Arizona though....
I’m hoping to write and mail at least another 100+ postcards for Postcard for Voters since I have like 130 postcard stamps that I’ll never use otherwise.
I am sad I didn't write postcards this year. I've done it many times previously but I didn't have enough space on my plate this time around. I do like the idea of phone banking or texting. I've been getting a lot of texts this week for GOTV.

As part of DD's allowance she is required to donate $1 each week. She finally had $40 saved up and she wanted to donate half to the Biden campaign (and the other half to a charity that supports Black girls activities). We matched it so right now we're just trying to use our money for good.
