Hi there -
Mostly a lurker on this board. Mainly posted on Disney and makeup, but for obvious reasons, both are quite dead right now.
I'm starting a first floor remodel in my basic builder townhouse. Putting in hardwood on the whole first floor (minus powder room which will be tile - attached photo). A whole new kitchen with white shaker cabinets and a grey island. Picked out Cambria Portrush as my quartz.
So now onto my first of many questions I'm sure.
I'm also redoing my fireplace mantel and surround. This is my inspiration (see below). I had originally wanted to swap out the penny tile and do a chevron, but since my area surround is kind of small (only about 4in on each side), there is not the space to do the chevron, so I'm thinking of sticking with the penny? Or does anyone have any other suggestions? I really like the marble look.
I've looked around locally and can't seem to find the penny tile (or maybe I'm search dumb, LOL) If anyone can point me in a direction of where to buy that would be helpful.

That looks like a very small marble hex tile mosaic rather than penny tile which would be round. I’m on my phone but if you haven’t found it by the time I’m at my computer I’ll help. Welcome!
Floor & Decor has a great selection of marble tile. Lowes has some too. Personally, I feel like chevron is going to look dated soon and would go for something more classic like herringbone or small rectangular tiles, like this:

We got our marble hexagon floor tile for the shower at Floor and Decor. I *would* recommend getting it from somewhere where you can pick out the tiles in person. We got our marble shower wall tile shipped to us and it was all just plain "dirty white" -- it didn't have that marble look at all. We ended up returning it all, and then when we decided to do porcelain tile for the wall but marble for the floor I went and rummaged through multiple boxes to get the tiles I wanted. I wanted some color variation but no big splotches that would look like stains.

I was going to suggest the same. Our marble tile is from a chain store and the sample board was light (like in the photo). There was a disclaimer that it could arrive darker, but it was really dark. We ended up keeping it and now I’m happy with how it looks, but it is not what we envisioned. I feel like people cherry pick tiles to get the lightest ones.
