I like the idea of getting my 3.5 year old DD a dollhouse for holidays gift. Any recommendations? I have a small Little People one, which is too small for her now, and I feel like she's too young for Barbie. I'm lost in KidKraft and Hape options.

Not sure how big you're looking to go, but the one at costco looks pretty nice. Its the Kidkraft treehouse one, DD was very excited when we were there and she saw it.
We have the Kidcraft Chelsea dollhouse, which I got for my now 9-year-old when she was 4. It has held up amazingly well through three kids and is still like new. My 3-year-old loves it! It's three stories but not huge, so it doesn't take up a ton of space.

We have the Kayla one and my DD loves it because it is big enough for her Barbies.
One year, we bought the Chelsea one and we tried to put it together on Christmas Eve and it came broken so you might want to check. My husband had to go to the store on Christmas Eve because it was supposed to be her big toy from Santa

We have the Kidcraft Emma. It's big enough for barbies, but not huge. I definitely recommend putting it together before Christmas Eve, we did ours over a few days and did our best to keep it hidden since it was from Santa.
I can't believe Fisher Price is discontinuing theirs. It's really awesome for kids that age. My kids have played with theirs for years. That would have been my rec.
I got DD this one for Christmas when she was 4. She's now almost 7 and still plays with it every day. It was a Black Friday deal; I paid less than 100 bucks iirc.
My girls have loved the Fisher Price Loving Family set. We have two houses, including the Christmas one, a camper, and stables.
My girls also have really liked Calico Critters and Playmobile. They never got into Barbie.
We had the Fisher Price Loving Family one, but my daughter barely played with it. She LOVED the Little People one, so I thought this would be a slam dunk, but it wasn't. I never got her the bigger ones that fit barbies (she had barbies and played with them occasionally, but never loved those either).

We had this one when my daughter was that age. It held up really well and the furniture that comes with it is super sturdy and can handle 3 year old play. When she got older, around 7 or 8, and didn't play with it as much, but like the arranging and designing, we bought new furniture that is more detailed and fragile traditional dollhouse furniture, and she decorated the inside (paint, "wall paper", ect). www.melissaanddoug.com/multi-level-dollhouse-/4588.html?cgid=our-toys-dolls-and-doll-houses
If you do not have a lot of space, I highly recommend the take and play version for space saving, cost saving, and enjoyment of play.
