Is anyone else following this? There is something else going on here - there has to be. There's no way she could have gone without food or water for 12 days - regardless of their faith.
Food, sure. The human body is capable of surviving for quite a while without a food source. But you need water and I read comments that she was able to walk out on her own, and for someone that is claiming to be as dehydrated as she was, it just doesn't make sense. Plus, the whole part of her having a 3-Day backpack including a hammock for a 3-hour hike? It makes no sense.
She had also just done a fast before she left: Strong said her sister lost between 15 and 18 pounds after not eating or drinking for at least 12 days. In addition, Courtier had not eaten for a few days prior to going to Zion National Park on Oct. 6 because she had gone on a planned fast.
Even is she was fasting before hand, that could explain who she could survive without food, but if she was dry fasting, that is so, so dangerous. They're going to find stashed water bottles and candy wrappers somewhere, no way this lady is for real.

Who has the energy to go on a hiking trip when they haven't eaten in days?
She definitely had access to good drinking water or she would be dead. I’m not sure about anything else. The sister said she checked herself into a mental health place.
I read on a reddit thread (so who knows if it is accurate) that she was spotted buying provisions at some point. She was also only half a mile from the parking lot, so people probably could have come and dropped food/water fairly easily. If this was for a GFM, they should have made it more believable and “found her” in two to three days.
I had mentioned in the earlier thread that I had wondered if she deliberately went missing (the “credible sighting” seemed weird to me). I had wondered if she just wanted to leave her life for a bit (or forever) then saw the fuss and came back or was doing some stunt for some reason in her personal life.
Then she was found. I guess it was all for money but what do they need a go fund me for? Why would you give them money? The park police looked for her and she walked out of the park. You don’t get a prize for being lost.
This is not at all the same set of circumstances, but it reminds me of when I lived in the UK - there was this huge story about this guy who had gone missing after going out in his kayak (British media called it a canoe but they were wrong). He turned up 10 years later claiming amnesia. What actually happened was that he faked his own death, moved to Paraguay and came back when he got scared he'd be outed on social media.
Honestly, my first reaction when I read that she was fine after being missing for 12 DAYS, was that there was something hinky going on.
To be fair, someone I used to be friends with went missing for 17 days last year in hawaii. She was essentially fine when she was found. She was dehydrated, lost weight and had some skin abrasions, but she was only in the hospital overnight for monitoring. The human body can be so fragile yet so amazing at the same time.
But yeah this story seemed off once I heard she couldn't have been drinking from the water source she was by.
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham

Is your friend Amanda? If so, in all fairness her story was heavily questioned as well. No phone and her spirit led her down the path right?
And she knew this and was aware that she couldn't drink from it?
What I read was that if she had drank from it, she would have died. Since she didn't,s she didn't drink from it.
Feels highly suspect to me that someone with a head injury would know to hunker down near a water source but also have the wherewithal to not drink from said water source, especially after days when she would have been literally dying of thirst.
They’re not saying she would have known to not drink the water. They’re saying she would have been very sick or dead from drinking the water. Since she wasn’t very sick or dead when they found her, she must not have drank the water.
People have survived in life rafts for months with very little food or drinkable water, so 12 days isn’t impossible. Her story sounds fishy for other reasons though....like why set up a GFM?
