DS2 is 4 and has sensitive skin and his hands are raw from washing so much at school. I’ve been putting lotion on but it burns. Any recommendations? I’ve tried cetaphil, aloe after sun, and Egyptian magic.
I’m actually kinda shocked this hasn’t happened sooner.

sandandsea, my youngest has had this problem for years — evidently science camp is really clean! Her hands were red, painful and cracked. We even ended up sending in her own fragrance free soap to preschool at one point.
What really helped though was putting Gold Bond ultimate healing cream on morning and night and giving her a tube to keep in her backpack and apply after washing. My brother worked out in the elements where his feet were wet for hours and he swore by the stuff.
Aquaphor is awesome. My dds had this problem in preschool that was partly due to them not drying their hands all the way after washing. You could do some coaching on that if you think it would help.

Cetaphil (the cram, not the lotion) worked best for our eczema child.
My weekend random - I sure hope DS doesn't have covid as we are not doing very well with the isolation thing. He keeps walking around the house touching everything and he and DD, who normally seem to fight all the time, can't seem to stay away from each other.
We just attended a zoom open house for my high school alma mater, in hopes that DD1 would attend next year. It was crowded. Competition will be fierce this year. I hope she gets in.
One of DD’s besties is going to have a bday party soon.. we were recently at their house for a different birthday party, and DD was the only girl and pretty bored. The mom is super sweet and asking for suggestions for activities for 8 year olds that DD would enjoy, that the boys won’t hate, compounded by the fact that corona will still be with us, so it will be outdoors with best attempts at social distancing.
At DS’s birthday party the boy did do a make your own Star Wars drone. The girls like it and they also did other girl crafts. They also played with legos because that was one of his gifts.
I want to buy a barbell and weights. I found one for 250$. Budget wise the money is not an issue. However I'm struggling on pulling the trigger.
I know my husband won't care as long as I have a place to store it. I have planned that out as well.
I keep reminding myself that my H just spent 200 on running shoes. I am allowed to spend this money on me if I want to, but I normally don't spend this kind of money. Outside of Christmas and kids birthdays I don't.
So options
A. Get it now B. Wait until closer to Christmas. Especially black friday to see if there are sales. C. Wait until we have recovered from holiday spending...
Other background. Our HVAC was just replaced, we are replacing our toilets and get are planning on redoing our floors after the holidays.
I feel like we've spent a lot of money recently, and are about to spend a lot more between holidays and floors.
Went to the dentist last week and need two crowns replaced and a filling replaced - so thousands of dollars, even through we have two dental insurances. Then this evening I bit into a piece of candy and a crown fell off - of course not one of the ones that needs to be replaced. I think I have a total of 3 crowns and a filling in my mouth, so now every single piece of dental work I’ve ever had needs to be replaced at the same time - ugh.
On the plus side, we had our most exciting day in six months. Pumpkin patch in the morning, with cannons that shoot apples and a corn maze, and a drive through scream zone this evening.
xctsclrx, get it now. Weight-bearing exercise is especially important for women because of bone mass issues. It’s for your health. It’s not frivolous. They’ll go on sale around New Year, but then you’re going to be recovering from holiday shopping and looking at new floors, so you won’t pull the trigger. Get it now.
Yes get them now. I would also take a quick look around to see if there are any sales coming up or coupon codes, but definitely now is a good time to get them because I find exercise even more important during the winter months and before/ during the holidays.
If buy them now too. If you have motivation to use them, hit it while it’s hot. You can afford it, so the expense of taking care of yourself can be prioritized.
I agree - buy them! I just bought some hand weights (up to 8lbs) on Prime Day because I figured that it was better than nothing and I’m just not ready to go back to the gym.
I’m also getting myself a used Arc Trainer for Christmas this year. It’s the only cardio I can do now without aggravating my knees. Even walking is killing them. It’s $$$$$$$ but I know I will use it. So if you know you’ll use the weights, go for it!!

I've signed up for a virtual personal trainer. During regular times it's a book a trainer and have them meet you anywhere thing, but now its n app to have a live trainer that trains you virtual either in the app or via zoom. It's a little bit strange because my trainer is in like...I'm not exactly sure where. Germany or something like that. There's at least a 12 hour time difference between me and her so when she trains me at 5:30am my time it's like 10:30 or 11:30 her time. It's a little bit weird, but it's working very well for my fitness.
I just finished a 30 day program that I thought was WAY too advanced for me and LOVED it. I have got crow pose DOWN and can hold it for 20-30 seconds now and have a graceful exit. The sense of accomplishment is great. I am debating whether I repeat the program (I have a lot of improvement I can make!) or start another one by the same person.
