I want to put something in this vase and I’m leaning toward a plant. As much as I love live houseplants, it’s a family heirloom and I don’t want dirt and moisture in it. So my questions are:
1. What type of plant would look good in it? I was thinking bird of paradise or fiddle leaf fig but would love other ideas.
2. Any recs for a nice, realistic fake plant? Or places to shop for one?
I'd just do branches, more than a plant. I have some long, arching fall branches with skinny leaves and something like that would look great.
In the winter, you could do "fake icy" looking branches if you are somewhere cold. In spring, flowering ones like fake cherry branches or flowering plum or similar.
This is one I've never heard of! But he's ok with the painting on the vase?
He was attacked by one as a child. But the vase is a family heirloom and I love it, so I told him to pretend it’s a phoenix or something.
omg that's terrifying! I took a group of preschoolers on a field trip to a zoo once and they had roaming peacocks and one started kind of following/stalking our group and I was really freaked out about what I'd do if it, like, charged us or something Luckily it didn't, but I can imagine how traumatic that would be.
