Yeah. H had one when she was little. It got bigger till about 6-12 months and then and it's constantly faded as she's gotten older and now at 6-1/2 it's only noticeable if you really look. I can send you some pics if it'll help calm your nerves.
If it’s not too annoying I’d love to see pics. I know I’m being anxious (and maybe a little bit vain too) but it kind of blows my mind that I’ve never seen a baby with this when everyone says it’s so common! Did you do any treatment on it when H was little?
Nope. We just let it be and if it didn't fade like her doc said it would, we would've, but that wasn't necessary. I'm in between meetings so I'll DM you some pics.

My DD was born with a hemangioma on her throat area, bright red about 3/4" diameter. She's about to turn 7 and it's still there but fading gradually. Our only instructions were to make sure it doesn't dry out, so lotion if needed.
I’m having the BEST time on maternity leave. J is amazing and so fun and honestly missing work during an incredibly stressful period is awesome. I so wish we could afford for me to quit my job and stay home. The thought of leaving him makes me so sad. Hopefully I get over that feeling before my leave ends in January.
We aren’t going anywhere for Halloween but J is going to be a peanin a pod and I’m so excited bc it’s going to be adorable.
My Nov goal is going to be to remember to brush my teeth. I’m so out of my normal routine it’s hard to remember and between pregnancy and not having my regular cleaning due to Covid I’m a little worried things are going to go south.
The forgetting to brush teeth is very common I think. When you don’t have a “just woke up” or a “before bed” then everything goes all wonky. I’m so glad to hear it’s going well!

My students have spent a lot of time this week talking about Grand Army on Netflix. I did not know about the controversy and the racist writer, and I spent the weekend binging it so I could engage with my students.
I'd like to talk about this with others, but I'm not sure if anyone has watched it here. I chatted with a friend of mine who said she's comfortable supporting the actors and the ideas if it means kids are talking about the issues.
If you haven't seen it, one of the storylines is about sexual assault.
EDIT: I do not know how this ended up in this thread. LOL
they can schedule extra police to patrol each neighborhood to make sure that people are following the speed limit and not trying to kidnap children
Where do you live that is full of people focusing on QAnon conspiracists and stranger abduction paranoia rather than sensible social distancing protocols? That must be frustrating.
Three times as many kids have already had serious complications from COVID MISC than get abducted by strangers each year.
Also has anyone else dealt with an infant hemangioma? Jules has one on the top of his hairline. It’s superficial and cosmetic but it’s grown since birth and it makes me nervous that he’ll have permanent scarring. The pediatric dermatologist was super breezy about it and we have a treatment plan and a topical medication but I’ve never known anyone else who has dealt with this before and I’m a little anxious.
Also pissed bc my baby is fucking beautiful and we barely go anywhere and we have still had two strangers ask us what is “wrong” with him (back up dude, 6 feet away!)
DS has one on his knee. Not only did it not fade but it grew a little bigger over the years. He's now 13 and it is apparent it is here to stay. It's not a huge deal cosmetically since it is on his knee so we haven't touched it. If it were on his face we would have looked into treatment.
seeyalater52, my DD has one on her arm. At 9 it's mostly gone, although she did have some scarring in the middle when she was younger. It kind of scabbed up randomly. I would keep an eye on it, but it should go away.
We did see a specialist who was not worried at all about it, but did find another mole/birthmark on her back that we had to have removed. If it brings you any peace of mind, see a specialist.

We are seeing a specialist and we are opting for treatment since the location is so prominent (his forehead.) But not the big guns treatment, the small guns treatment.
It’s suoer helpful to hear that so many kids have this! Thank you all for helping me feel less alone.
I had one between my upper lip and nose. It is present in my 1 year birthday pictures but I don’t have any memories of it, so it faded by the time I could see the mirror—so by age 4.

My daughter had one on her lower back. the pedi wasn't at all concerned, and now at 11 I can't even remember when it went away (but it did completely - maybe by age 2/3). I want to say it was about 2 inches across at its largest and very raised. and it did keep growing until about 12 months or so (I think...it's been so long).
I am sure your son is gorgeous and those people need to mind their manners (and step back!)

My daughter had one on her neck. It started to fade when she was a little under two and completely gone by the time she was three, if not younger. Despite that she was still a beautiful baby (perhaps i might be biased).

Well, I was being facetious. Silly me. Sarcasm doesn't translate well to the written word.
Here is the actual news article about my community in regards to Halloween.

My micro-preemie brother had several. He had a massive one on his left shoulder. It slowly faded and was significantly smaller as he aged. The other two that I can remember are no longer visible. One was on his arm. I was 9 when he was born so I don’t know what if any treatment was done. He’s in his late 20’s.

My random of the day is that I got to witness a Trump supporter being blatantly selfish and obnoxious today. They (he of course) had a Trump sticker on their car and stopped in the school drop off line to get out with their kid etc, holding up the line. Then after leaving they did a 3 point u turn in a driveway to go around the traffic leaving the school theough the neighborhood. Too good to follow the rules white guy-Trump support checks out.
