I skipped a week 3 post since I posted about my basement bathroom and a lot of the work was the mechanics (electric, plumbing etc.). We just started week 5, so 4 weeks done and things are still going well. Electrical is just about done, inspection is Wed. Plumbing is close to finished too. They're pouring the garage slab today? HVAC is done. The patio is done except for installation of the lights. We ended up running a new plumbing stack up to our master bath, capped, for future use. So that entails some framing and demo in our kitchen area. When we take the master bath on we'll cap the existing stack in the basement, and tear it out on the first floor (which will help open up the kitchen floor plan).
ETA: we had a slight delay b/c the mason used a bunch of black bricks that just didn't look right. Our GC was not pleased - he ended up ordering another palette of bricks to mix in and the mason is chipping out all the black bricks. I felt bad, but it really didn't look good.
Still hammering out some particulars w/my contractor - e.g., we want to hang our 32 ft ladder in the garage, so I ordered a pulley system and he's adding extra framing/support to the joists.
We had to make another floor plan change out of necessity. We originally had the vanity in the first floor bath along the brick wall, but even at a mere 18" deep it felt too cramped in the space. I briefly considered a pedestal, but the plumbing comes up from the floor, and even those are not tiny. So we're putting the vanity under the window. It's different, but it's the best place for the space - I figure I'll put plants on the sill and mirrors on the adjacent wall. Switching to a single overhead light rather than 2 pendants too (b/c I think 2 pendants next to the shower would be cramped). Also going to use a swinging entry door now, not a pocket, now that we have space (which is also nice b/c it's easier to use than a pocket door).
Here's my contractor holding the window in place - we'll cut the legs down a bit on the vanity (it's pretty high).
Garage extension is fully framed now - joists are in place:
I need to grab a final shot of the patio, but you can see the stairs in this shot of DH and the kids eating takeout. BTW - a construction site may as well be another playground in my kids' POV.
I bought a lot of tile since my last post -
most of the above is for the first floor bath (vertical pickets for the shower w/the brick-like mosaic for the tile niche). I went with a green patterned tile for the basement bath. Going to do that brass star tile top left above in the shower inset, grout w/black and maybe a large scale porcelain/white marble on the walls.
I have about a 1,000 lights pinned and I need to start pulling the trigger on those choices soon. Shades of light has such lovely lights!

It's definitely coming along.
I had a vanity by a window by necessity as well - we put in a mirror that was on an arm so you could swing it in front of the window to look into it and swing it away so it wouldn't impede the window. We had a rather large sill area, so could put some organisational items on it under the mirror. Wasn't perfect but it definitely worked well for us.
