Trump supporters have also shut down the Cuomo (Tappan Zee) Bridge in New York: ...
Not the point but I hadn't realized they renamed the TZ. Do people actually call it the Cuomo Bridge now or has Tappan Zee stuck? That new bridge was such. An. Improvement !
My husband and I jokingly use it’s full name - the Mario M Cuomo Memorial Bridge. It was renamed when they rebuilt it. That’s the benefit of your son being the governor, I guess.
The White House on lockdown: A federal law enforcement source tells NBC that beginning tomorrow, crews will build a “non-scalable” fence to secure the WH complex, Ellipse and Lafayette Square.
250 National Guardsmen have been put on standby, reporting to Metro Police officials.

I hope this is ok to ask here. I know there are a lot of NJ voters. Has anyone's ballot been "accepted" yet? I thought they could start counting 10 days before Election Day so I hoping mine would be marked as accepted. It's not really clear on line when they change from received to accepted. Anyone know exactly how it works? I am in Essex county if that matters.m

My friend works for DCDOT, and she says they are prepping.

I stole this from the local NJ board...
from the division of elections website (below where you log in):
Ballot status information (i.e. – received, etc.) is provided by the counties via an automated process. The amount of time it takes until updates post to the Track My Ballot tool may vary from county to county. A voter's ballot status won’t be changed to "Accepted" or "Rejected" until after the certification of the Election, on November 20th. Please check back periodically for updates to your ballot stat

I’m also in Essex County.
From my understanding, they’ll update it after Election Day (Nov 20), but if your ballot had had a signature discrepancy you would’ve been notified right away:

Did you get the postcard in the mail confirming that the ballot was received?
Thanks for the link. I am worried about my signature matching, but I haven’t seen anything yet. We hardly even check the mail but I am going to check tomorrow morning.
I’m trying to remain cautiously optimistic to keep from spiraling in anxiety. I keep reminding myself all of the things that have happened in the past 4 years that should lead to a Biden win. I know there are things you could say about why they won’t vote for him and it’s still baffling to me why people vote R against their own best interest, but I’m always going to believe the good people outweigh the bad and there’s no way for an R win unless it involves lying, cheating and stealing.
So many people have mobilized and connected for protests and volunteering. Democrats who never talked about politics started being vocal about it. Democrats who’ve never donated money to a campaign started donating. Democrats who never volunteered for a campaign started volunteering. There are 4 more years of voters, who statistically lean Democrat. A lot of privileged people have truly been listening and learning. There’s been a lot more excitement for the campaign since Kamala Harris was announced as VP. There’s a lot of former and current republicans who are publicly supporting Biden. Some voters who’ve always voted R are voting for him. All the voter suppression, including long lines on Election Day are going to prevent R votes, too. There’s been a lot in the news about the post office issues and a big push for people to vote by mail early or drop-off ballots in person. The things dumpster fire has said / done over the past 4 years have alienated people and groups who previously supported him.
People know he lies and may his base may not care, but none of the negative lies he’s thrown out about Biden have stuck very well.
People are exhausted from all the drama and are desperate for life to return to normal, which means a competent leader who can unite people and get Covid under control.
The stock market is going to tank if Covid can’t get under control and another relief bill isn’t passed. Although they try to paint Pelosi as the villain, it doesn’t look good that R’s haven’t done anything about Covid relief since August, especially while ramming The Handmaid through. Many Americans are struggling financially, personally and in their businesses, and more and more people are personally impacted by Covid every day.
Compassion, unity, women’s rights, immigration and asylum rights, black lives matter, LGTQB+ rights, science, the environment, American lives, international relations, the economy and the divide between the wealthy and the rest of us are all on the ballot.
This has all had a big impact down ballot which will impact the future of the D party.
It was interesting to me that they called out Robeson county in NC and specifically called out the Lumbees. About 30% of the workforce at my job is Lumbee, so I talk to them a lot. Only about 20% of Lumbees are registered to vote. And the wants I know aren't voting the way I want them to. Except one, and she's very vocal about it. LOL. Lumbees want federal recognition. Both campaigns say they support, although Trump just started supporting it a couple of weeks ago. A lot of Lumbees want to know why, if Biden supports them, he didn't help them when he was VP?
redheadk, I have been told by people smarter than me (who work in the clerk's office) to not vote provisionally tomorrow. But definitely sign up to be an intervenor in the lawsuit (there is a google doc floatng around). If you need it, let me know and I can find it.

Thanks for tagging me! I signed up to be an intervenor yesterday and no intentions of voting provisionally tomorrow.
