Thurs: family turkey trot, a 5k run through the neighborhood. A true Thanksgiving miracle, the kids both ran the whole thing and didn’t complain! Fri: 4.5 mi family hike (where the kids and my husband complained a lot, lol) Sat: 3 hours outdoor work, 1 hr yoga Sun: ran 5.8 mi

We had ham and cheesy potatoes and brussel sprouts and it was all awesome. But I made SO MANY cheesy potatoes, so we are eating them with like every meal for the next week, LOL.

We have a tradition of eating snacks and appetizers while we decorate the house and tree, so I probably overdid the snacks. Snacks are my favorite food group.
I was off work last week so took a break from my usual regimen and focused on having fun. I skated my brains out, hiked, cycled, did an all-TRX workout, and one lifting session of just lifts I love and haven't done in a while. I am usually very structured with my training, so it was awesome to just do whatever I wanted for a week!
I ate way too much ham and various delicious carbs on Thanksgiving. In the past, that would have sent me into a tailspin of overcompensating with extreme diet and exercise or into a month-long binge. I am so grateful to be in a much healthier place this year where I could enjoy the holiday and then just move on.
