I've been lurking over here for a while without posting, but we moved at the beginning of the month and I see a lot of questions in my future. We are in an unusual housing situation - housing is provided with DH's job, and we can really do whatever we want to the inside of the house, but it is not ours and there is no chance for return on investment, so it is really just about what makes us happy living here. We will be in this house at least 8 years and possibly up to 20, so we are willing to invest some time and money, but will also be just living with some things (like countertops and floor tile) that we wouldn't have chosen but are in good shape.
Besides painting, one of the first things I want to do is add hardware to the cabinets in the kitchen. I am wondering if you would do all bar pulls or a mix of knobs and bar pulls. My first thought was just pulls, but it has a lot of cabinets, and I am wondering if that would just be too...much? I've attached a picture of the kitchen before we moved in so you can see - it is not a big room, but has a lot of cabinets and drawers for the size. And yes, replacing the way too small refrigerator is on my list!
I'd order your fridge asap. Appliances are so hard to come by. I ordered a fridge on Dec 1st. It might be here by February. Might. The original fridge I ordered in early September and it still hadn't arrived by Nov 30th. RAC is my friend.
Welcome I am also a lurker! I would do pulls. If allowed paint in my opinion provides a quick update.
Oh, I'll definitely be painting. Every room is the same creamy/pale yellow (depending on the light) color. It will all be changing, I just have to decide what it is changing to.
