I always want to draw as little attention to a garage & keep it as neutral as possible, so I’m no help on that. I’d say white or cream for the garage door, but then go for color on the shutters and front door. If you do that, you have a much wider range of color options.
My preference would probably be white garage, black shutters, bright & bold front door...maybe teal, yellow, or plum.

I have a red brick house with white siding and we did black shutters. I like it a lot.
Sorry, looks like the only pic I have is during construction of the addition, and it doesn't even show much of the brick...I need to take some nice exterior pics!
I have a red brick house with white siding. My shutters are black. We just got a new front door which will be painted red and the storm door has a black frame. We are also painting our garage doors black.
I would definitely do white/cream for the garage to match the siding in that area, and also paint the little triangles over the windows. The contrasting paint really makes the garage stand out and I think you'd want to highlight the HOUSE, not the garage.
I would do black, navy, a dark teal-y blue, or similar for the shutters & door.
I agree black door and shutters. For those saying black for garage, I want to paint our double garage doors black but my husband says it will attract too much heat. I don't think it's really that serious so I'm curious if anyone actually has black garage doors. I've been searching my neighborhood and no one has them. I really don't want to do white because they will undoubtedly become gross and disgusting like 6 hours after it's done.
I'll go against the grain and say Sherwin Williams Urbane Bronze. It's a warm bronze that can lean grey. Kind of like what aprilsails is saying.
YHL did Urbane bronze on their garage doors with red brick and I thought it looked good. Tagging bittybomb in case she hasn't seen these doors too.
Thank you! Something like that would definitely work. We do have black shutters and front door. But our garage is detached and set quite away back from th house. Perhaps I could get my husband on board with something like this.

So I live in a new home neighbourhoodm and lots of people have black garage doors. They are all from Garaga and weirdly every single one that is black and faces South or West has paint bubbles that are visible lifting from the surface. I don’t know if it’s a manufacturer’s defect or something to do with the heat from the sun damaging the finish. Ours are a medium taupe and face Northeast so we haven’t had a problem.

Factory applied metal paint is baked on at hot temps so I doubt the bubbling is due to the temp. More likely they had a bad run of production in that color.
For heat the door itself will be fine if it's metal. Of course your garage may get hotter which may or may not be a problem depending on your climate and ventilation in the garage (we leave our two small garage windows cracked open all summer for example). If the door is not metal there are more potential issues with it getting hot, but most are metal.
A re-painted garage door that has paint issues is due to most likely surface prep, it still wouldn't be a temp issue.

Right now the doors are wooden, but they are old and probably could be replaced. We do have two windows in the garage, but those have been painted shut long ago so I'd have to replace them too to make them workable. I think my husband is mostly concerned with our children burning themselves opening the doors to get bikes/scooters/balls out. It can get hot here in summer (Long Island, NY). I was hoping to just paint them to get us by for a few years while we did some more pressing projects - redo the driveway, replace the fence, finish the new basement, and freshen up our master bath and closet. But maybe I will get some quotes on new doors and tie it in with either driveway and/or fence.
I have a dark royal blue door and shutters on my red brick house. Similar to Salty Dog from Sherwin Williams. A bit brigher and fun than black or a dark navy. Garage door and trims are creamy white.
ETA our front door was orignally black. It used to get so hot (morning sun) you could put your hand on the inside and feel the heat coming in. It is much better with the blue.
