Now that Moderna has been approved for adults is the kid's trial blind (meaning some get placebo) or does everyone get the vaccine?
The article said 67% chance- 2 out of 3 get actual vaccine.
It’s so funny, everyone I know in real life who is in a trial and has been unblinded, including myself, got placebo. I did the trial to give back, not necessarily to get the vaccine earlier, but I thought it was interesting that based on the odds everyone I know got placebo, ha!

I know a couple who did the Pfizer trial and they both got the placebo too!
This is good to hear, my 13 year old is definitely lower than 56% BMI. Can you keep us updated on how it goes? They told me they would call me next week for an appointment and then he would still have to get accepted but I would love to hear your experience with it.
Will do. His first appt is 2 in 1 and will therefore be the longest at 4 hours. He will essentially get a physical. They will do blood draws at some or all appointments. He will go back 30 days after the 1st appt and then back again in 30 days. The 4th visit will be 7 months out.
Thank you for this info. The closest one to me is an hour and a half away, but only having to go 4 times in 7 months isn't bad. Except for the part where I'd have to be in Worcester 4 times...

My daughter would be at the same site, long drive! My son already has multiple doctor appts in Boston that we are dealing with so I did not register him. he would love to miss more school though.

And old poster was in the trial with her husband. She got the vaccine, he didn’t. They were both exposed at a wedding. He got very sick and she didn’t. The exposure was before the unblinding, but she said they knew after the exposure and her husband getting sick.
She posted on FB about it to encourage people to get vaccinated.
Bumping, I signed my daughter up and I got a message that said please call "." if you don't hear back within several business days. But there was no number, just a period. Does anyone know the number I'd call?

Hi outnumbered, is there any chance you received a contact number when you signed your daughter up? The number was blank in my response email and text and I haven't been able to figure out who to call.
