I found this blog a few years ago. www.earthtrekkers.com/ They took a year off to travel with their kids when they were 10/11. They did Everest Base Camp with the kids that I remember being amazed by when I read their post.
This sounds amazing! I started following an Australian couple on instagram. They took a school bus and made it into a camper and have been traveling around Australia. It's gorgeous. I think the gains from travel like this would be so amazing for life.
This is from several years ago but the advice is sound. This is a friend of a friend. He didn't do this with kids, but I think they are planning on it now..
Someone who use to post on MM did this, pre kids. I think it was sillygoosegirl.
Yes, that was me! My blog about it is middendorfrtw.blogspot.com
It was before kids though. I'd love to do it again with my 6-year-old, although I don't think I'll be able to talk DH into it again. You might want to look into "worldschooling" or "roadschooling" for people who travel like this with kids, while homeschooling them. (Roadschooling I think is typically like long term RVing and the like, worldschooling is more international... although I don't follow closely, I'm too sad about wanting to do it and my spouse... not wanting to.)
