9 houses came on the market in my area between yesterday and today, and there's not a single one that we're at all interested in I guess it's a good sign that the market is picking up a bit at least.
We saw a house this weekend, went on the market Friday morning, showings started Sunday. We saw it Sunday morning. We found out we were one of 43 showings between Sun-Mon., and as of this morning, my agent said they already had an offer $100k over asking.
$100k over a $499,500 asking price. 20% over asking.
The house was amazing, but we decided after the showing not to make an offer. We didn't like the lot it was on, and it didn't have (nor was there space to add) a mudroom or laundry above basement level. Everything else about the house was gorgeous and lovely.

Susie I’m not house hunting right now but DH loves following the market. In my area prices went nuts this year, with an average price increase of 29% across the metro area. We’ve noticed that with the Spring market there has been more softening on prices as more houses come up. I know you are looking in a limited area, but I’m hopeful you will see more options and less demand soon.
We just had an offer turned down that was $250k over asking. They got a dozen offers and ours wasn’t even in the running. And it needs a new roof. This market is insane.
