I searched for the groups on Facebook under groups and found them that way. Hy-Vee in the cities had appointments earlier today, but I can’t find any availability right now when I checked. If your parents are vets, the VA is having a clinic this weekend in Rochester. What part of the state are they in? Thrifty white has 907 appointments available right now, but they are all a drive from the cities. www.thriftywhite.com/covid19vaccine They seem to be updated in real time, so if someone cancels, a different location may pop up. I will keep my eyes peeled for appt postings and tag you. And I agree, the MN rollout is awful. It’s so disappointing.
Thanks.. I just saw the Hy-Vee stuff on that Facebook group, but unfortunately it looks like it already filled up. My parents are not vets. They live in northern suburb of the Twin Cities and would probably drive an hour or two, but it looks like all the open Thrifty White ones are 3+ hours. Their health care is through M Fairview which is only doing 75+ right now, but I am hoping maybe next week they'll open to 65+.....
Fairview opened up to 65+ yesterday, if your parents still need appts.

My ILs were able to get an appointment for Friday for their first vaccination at a mass vaccine site about an hour away from their home. I had been sending messages to my MIL for a few days to get them to be pro-active about finding a place as they became eligible last week (70+, OR). She said she got the link from their dr's office and it took her an hour online to make an appointment. I'm so relieved.
If anyone has Western MA specific tips, I'm all ears. My dad doesn't feel comfortable driving too far and my sister hasn't had any luck getting him anything semi-local. I'm afraid availability for 65+ will only get harder to find once they open it to teachers next week - hopefully they get a concomitant increase in supply to balance it out!

. thanks! My parents got Fairview appointments this week and I am happy. .
What area? I heard Lowell General has appts available a few hours ago.
Otherwise the mass vaccination sites update their appts on Thursday mornings but it’s a bit of a shit show. We got lucky and got MIL an appt at CVS last week. So many websites to check, it’s really frustrating. If you want to PM me their area, I’ll let you know if I see any. GL!
I don't even know - she said they would go anywhere (it's for her parents). I refreshed the mass vaccine sites for two days straight! Thank you, though!

CVS had a ton of appointments open up this morning in Virginia. I just made one for our admin at work.
I wish I knew when CVS releases appts in MA. That would be easier (hopefully). There are so many different websites to check. It is so frustrating. Now I'm trying to help the teachers I know get appts.

From my limited knowledge, it seems that Saturdays and Thursdays are release days with appointments M-Th. I usually check around 6:30am.

They released some this morning around 5:30am. I got into the queue at 6:20ish and waited 70 minutes to get onto the site. By the time I got on, there were no appointments left in the state.
A friend told me that she's noticed they seem to release appointments every other day or so, with a big AM drop and then a small trickle of certain locations throughout the day (maybe cancellations?).

I was able to get one for 3/12 at Eastfield!!! I was sooooo relieved. I think it was pure dumb luck because a couple other people I know tried to get into the queue at the same time I did (right before 8:30) and all the appointments got taken while they were still waiting in line.
I didn't realize my dad was eligible now so I'm on the look out for appointments in MA for him (and my mom is also struggling to get her second dose scheduled). MA seems to have the worst system, so frustrating.

It seems like they just don't have enough doses to keep up with the demand
Hmm good to know. Hopefully something changes soon.
My mom lucked into her first dose while volunteering, which is great, but now has no easy way to even get to that second dose! I hope she's able to get it within the necessary time frame

For Dr. B's site, you have to respond to the text alert within 15 minutes. I will pretend I have internet issues if that text comes while I'm on a conference call.

I think they are releasing appointments every day. I logged in at 5:45 this morning. Appointments were available, but not released. At 6 i was let into the waiting room. By 6:30 am I secured a JandJ appt in Boston. I tried for a more local slot but nothing was open. I used two browsers (safari and chrome) on my computer. One browser (chrome) never left the waiting room. It was helpful to know where the list of towns so I could type in different locations.
3. If there are no slots available you will see this "At this time, all appointments in Massachusetts are booked. We’ll add more as they become available. Please check back later." You will see list of towns that say fully booked. Take note of the towns to use later.
4. If there are slots available you will see this "Appointments available at select CVS stores within the following cities/towns" Click on "Schedule an appointment now"
5A: You will now see one of two messages: (cannot remember exact wording of this one): We are preparing appointments. This means they have open slots, but they are not released yet. I started over at this point by clicking on the first link.
5B or you will see this "Sit tight, we’ll help schedule your vaccination soon." Keep this page open. It automatically refreshes itself. It took me 30 minutes at this point to reach a scheduling page. This is where it is good to know what towns have vaccines available. You type in a location and it looks for the nearest open spot. I could not get anything local so ended up in Boston. The rest of the screens are filling in information and confirming the time slot.
outnumbered I couldn't figure out CVS today. I found one town that said it had an available appointment, but then when I got to the screen to search for open appointments it said there weren't any.
(same thing happened with Gillette today too, so I've given up for the day for my sanity).

I just signed up! Thank you! The two sites seem to be the same?
I joined a PA vaccine hunter/match group. PA stage 1A is anyone over 65, health care workers, a few other types of work (group settings, etc), and anyone 16+ with comorbidities, so they are obviously not even 1/3 of the way through all those people yet.
I learned from that group about a chrome extension that helps you check like 10 rite aid locations at once to see if they have appointments available, and that rite aid drops appointments at midnight, CVS at 6am, and Wegmans around mid day.
I happened to be up late last night and after thinking I had an appointment and filling out all my info TWICE (false hope!) And then being told the slot was actually full, the third time was a charm and I got an appointment for next Friday.

Nothing this morning at CVS or Kroger when I checked for FIL. Found out over the weekend his doctor's office isn't affiliated with the hospital system that has the vaccines, so now I'm on the hunt for him.
Oh and he no longer has a cell phone and he apparently never checks email.
Also something to note about Walmart they seem to also add a few during the day around lunch. I refreshed vaccine spotter (for around 4 days) about every hour and suddenly appointments showed up within a 40 mile distance to where we live. (aka Fort Worth) and I got two appointments together for my inlaws.
