Old stock question

Found 15 shares of an old stock... company looks to have gone out of business..bought by another company. Contacted the transfer agent listed with the sale... after reaching out daily for like a month someone wrote back saying they are no longer the teansfer agent and gave me a number to the original company...which is no longer in service. Tried googling and finding nothing. Is there anything else i can do at this point to see of these old shares are even worth anything? Thanks!

A brokerage house should be able to help you, if you have the actual share certificates and have an account with one. If you give the name of the original company on some investment and reddit sites, they could probably help you track it down.
