Saturday-5 miles of sprints on my skates, just 3 seconds off my PR from the end of last season. Great way to start this season!
Sunday-absolutely glorious 22 mile skate with friends in beautiful weather, with snow-capped mountains as a backdrop. (We rarely get snow and had our 2nd snow of the year Friday night!)
QOTW-hell yes! As soon as i am eligible and there is a shot with my name on it, i am there! I am so tired of weighing the most mundane of activities against the risk to our lives.
Friday- was a shit show so I didn't do anything Saturday- plank and took my Aunt and Uncle's dog for a walk Sunday- plank, 1.25 mile walk and 5k virtual race
I got the J&J vaccine a week ago. A friend got hers for work and texted that there was an extra if I wanted it. I had no hesitation and jumped at the chance.
Good question, and I apologize in advance for the TMI nature of my response... but I had a medical procedure performed by a gastroenterologist about 16 hours after my vaccine (it wasn’t a full colonoscopy, but related). I had to start prep for that an hour after I got the vaccine. I might otherwise have staggered these events, but I neither wanted to pass up the chance to get the vaccine before they had to pitch it, or reschedule the procedure. I have previously reacted kind of wonky to a medication trying to move my body along, as the gastro prep one was, but I can’t say what was attributable to the vaccine versus the prep meds. I did have teeth chattering chills about six hours after both, major sweating about ten hours out, dizziness/nausea that next morning, and a dull headache all the next day. All of those things happened when I reacted to similar meds before, and the headache could have been from the dehydrating effects of the prep meds. I came straight home after the procedure and took a big nap. I was feeling much better that evening (24 hours out from the vaccine) and was basically back to normal the following day. I will say my left arm didn’t hurt or feel sore at any point; I’m a left side sleeper and was able to do that without issue.
I absolutely will get the vaccine as soon as I'm eligible. DH got his first dose last week (teacher) and I'm so envious.
@peep I saw 3 women roller skating together on our community path over the weekend and thought of you! I never see people roller skating, it looked fun
