To California residents only. I wonder how they’ll manage ticket sales and reservations... APs were cancelled but individual tickets were not, so plenty of people still have valid park tickets.
I went to downtown Disney (with BV street open) and, I have to say, I think Disney is managing covid precautions MUCH better than almost anyone else. They were very consistent, and strict, and all of the guests there happily complied. I have literally not been one other place since March 2020 where masks and distancing were so compliant.

Very happy to hear this- I have seen similar statements about Disney World on social media. How crowded was it? I love the idea that it has been open and many pictures I have seen it appears almost empty but won’t go since DS2 is higher risk (bad asthma and pneumonia after a getting sick Dec 2019, ironically after a trip to Disney...we were passholders and there 10-15 times/year). Also curious how the reopening goes.

It was fairly busy when I was there, but with BV street, it opened up a lot of space for people to wander around. When I went, it was also the last week of the AP 30% discount, so I think extra people were there to take advantage of that before it ended. The lines were all marked on the ground and they didn’t allow very many people inside each individual store. A few had virtual lines with a return time sent to your phone. I saw staff stop people walking who were eating, drinking, or even had their masks below their nose. They seemed to be monitoring things very closely.
I went by myself for 2 days 😊 I waited until I was 2 weeks past my second covid dose, and left my kids at home. If you are local, it should be really empty until A Taste of Disney opens up. The legacy holder discount was also just changed, so I think fewer people will be there kinda scamming a discount (with borrowed or expired passes).

Thank you! So jealous! I am local...but unvaccinated with a high risk kiddo. I would likely go otherwise but we are trying our best to stay safe. Really glad to hear they are being so strict with the safety protocols though...that makes me feel better for whenever we feel ok going back to the parks! Funny, when all this started...DS1 (who has ASD and sensory issues) was determined to never wear a mask (even for Disneyland). Now, he would gladly wear one if it meant he could go to Disney!
