DH and I were able to sneak away on Saturday for an overnight. We left Saturday morning and took a long walk through our old neighborhood and along the coast (we lived a few blocks from the beach). Nice lunch, relaxed for a while, then out to dinner. We stayed at a hotel in the city.
Sunday the fire alarm went off in the hotel at 620am, so we had to walk down 8 flights and outside. So we grabbed coffee/tea nearby, then I went for a long walk through the city and along the water. Then we had breakfast and hung out fir a bit. We got home in the early afternoon and it was just what we needed.
Somehow I managed to get poison ivy on my legs, so that all popped out last night. So I scrubbed it out but it was still itchy all night. Then the fat started with the puppy peeing all over my bathroom floor and then laying down in it. So I hope things improve from there 🤪
We are back from spring break today and my students are DEAD. So tired. So unengaged. It's frustrating.
I think I might have broken my arm this weekend. I fell off my bike and it's very bruised and sore. I need to find an urgent care that has x-ray. Sigh.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
We spent all day outside on Saturday at beau's family's lake house. It was amazing! Super sunny weather, the kids got muddy and had a blast climbing trees and digging in the sand all day, we grilled a bunch of food. This lake is only about 30 minutes from our house so it's a perfect escape for a day trip and change of scenery.
Yesterday the weather turned and it was cold and rainy all day so we had a super lazy day at home. Lots of napping, tv watching, and folding laundry. The kids were so well occupied all day - they basically barricaded themselves in the girls' bedroom and did arts and crafts all day with no parental help required. We were expecting a lot of "I'm bored" out of the rainy day, but it was great! Then we had pizza and wings for dinner.

The full moon did not do me any favors this weekend. The kids were insane Saturday because of it and then yesterday because they were tired. We stayed all night at my mom's in hopes DS will want to stay in the future. Not sure it worked yet. DH had more calls at work than normal Saturday, so he took a nap from about 11-3 yesterday. All that to say, I didn't really get to relax until I went to bed each night.
It's going to be a busy week. I have 3 accounts that I should be wrapping up this week and it will amount to about 2 months of my current commission, so that will be nice. I've mapped out my week to squeeze workouts in too. As long as I continue starting my day at 5am I should be fine. Yay?

My house is completely trashed because we had a lovely day at the beach and I got completely sun burned. I’ve always when been prone to burning but it’s getting worse as I get older or something so I have ordered a couple rash guards. Anyway, I didn’t get much cleaning done.
Otherwise it was a nice weekend. Helped DD1 get caught up on some school work, took the dogs on a short hike. Now back to work. This week is shaping up to be busy but not completely insane like the last two. Looking forward to it.
I had a nice weekend. I planted some stuff in our pots in the backyard and bought two blueberry bushes to plant in big pots on our front porch. We have strawberries in a strawberry pot in our backyard. It made me feel like spring and summer are here, which is exciting. We also had strawberries that were going to go bad, so I made homemade refrigerator jam. It is good! I had it this morning on toast. Mmmm.
We are getting to an inflection point in our house where I want to start doing more things and DH does not. He’s getting his second vaccine in a couple of weeks. Once he’s 2 weeks beyond that, all the adults in our families will be fully vaccinated. So I want to eat outdoors at patio restaurants. DH is nervous about that. I want to plan a vacation. DH doesn’t want to fly. Or drive far enough we would have to stop to use a public bathroom. Or be on a cruise ship. (I agree about the cruise ship.) He doesn’t want to be anywhere with people but he hates nature. So WTAF. I’m going to have to plan a vacation without him. Also the org where I’m on the board is doing sleep away camp this year. I would like to send DD. They are making the counselors come early, test, and then remain at the camp the entire summer (no going home on weekends). I want to at least look into it. DH is like “nope.”
Add this to my annoyance that DH takes every day risks related to Covid (I swear he’s in multiple stores every single day.) and I’m losing patience with him.
Our state opened up vaccines to everyone 40-49 today and all the parents in our friend group from school already have appointments for this week! Beau is getting his first dose today too. It's such a happy text thread to be on today!

I'm back after a week away. Beau and I went to Punta Cana for the week and had a great time! We felt safe flying, everyone at the all-inclusive resort we went to were wearing masks and it was not crowded so we could easily distance from everyone. We had a swim up room, so we mostly just hung out at the pool outside our room. The hotel gave us a COVID test before we left.
Now I'm back to reality, where I have 600 emails to catch up on from work. I also have to file grievance and fund protection paperwork with my state bar today because it looks like ex-H's attorney did steal our money. I'm surprisingly not more upset about it because my attorney has prepped me all along if this were the case, the state bar has insurance for things like this.
Quiet morning and a crazy afternoon. DD didn't want to go back to school today. It's the first day of hybrid for 1-5 so totally new schedule for the virtual kids and her virtual class doubled. The spent the morning acting like it was the 1st day of school. Writing class rules/expectation, learning to play games, and chatting about spring break. She really wanted to sit ant watch me work instead. I'm entering stock sales so Market Watch was interesting to watch.
Weekend was okay. DD hung with my mom on Saturday and then she watched her friends scores and got highlights over texts on Sunday.
DH got upset with us because when we got home Saturday DD and I just crashed on the couch and picked up our books to chill. He came in all mad that it was nice out and we were sitting on the couch reading and we should go off and do a late hike or to the park. We both looked at him and went back to reading. I'm exhausted and going off is the last thing I want to do. Let alone it was time for me to start dinner.
@mommyatty same. DH has been very locked down. I got my shots during 1a. He gets his second shot Friday. So we are leaving him home while Dd and I go to the beach for spring break, but when we get back, it's on. I've already planned to go to our neighborhood bar and grill and have a meal and a couple of drinks 2 weeks from Friday. I booked Gatlinburg today for two of us and flights to Clearwater in June for family vacation and camping trip for Dds bday. I AM READY TO BE FREE.
He's been very inconsistent with his rules also. No outdoor dining, but will jump in the truck with buddies, which is a pretty efficient way to get Covid if someone is infected.
I am always shocked that they’re opening up vaccination to lower risk groups.. our county still hasn’t been able to get through our 65+ and essential workers and is constantly canceling appointments.
Our state is opening up availability to anyone 16+ on 4/15, but we likely won’t have the supply for it in our county. 😬
k3am, I've had great luck booking for DH and me and for my friends and family in Maryland at 12:30 am local time on the CVS website. They open up all the appointments at that time for 5 days in future. So tonight will open for Friday appointments. Here, the super stations close due to lack of supply, but the pharmacies seem fine. Tonight I'll be booking for my cousin in Ohio and another friend on the East coast. Since that's only 9:30 pm for me.

Same thing here. We are open already to all groups. People in the 1B category have been in line since January and still don’t all have appointments.
I’ve had luck at a chain of independent pharmacies here. I think they have 8 or 10 locations. I got BFF and DH appointments there and they were both impressed with how well-organized those clinics were. But our county? Utter mess.
sdlaura I’ll be checking for appointments in a few weeks. I would prefer J&J so that I can be one and done. I can’t wait, but I’m expecting it won’t happen until the May-July time frame.
