I got my second vaccine shot yesterday afternoon. Have had some full body aches since 4:30 this morning but they went away with Advil. I’m at work but feeling lazy and just white-knuckling it through the day.
New job is still great, but I’m seeing places we need to improve, and that’s tough. It’s hard to be a new person and say “here’s a place you’re doing this all wrong.” I’m trying to be tactful while still getting my message across, but it’s hard.

I have a divorce mediation scheduled for the end of this month. Hopefully we can finally get somewhere with two competent attorneys. Ex-H filed a police report against his former attorney for the theft of our money and they told him this kind of case falls behind murder and rape for priority. I'm still waiting to hear from the state bar on the grievance and fund protection paperwork I filed. I'm sure their investigation will go on for a while.
DDOT: My work user interfaces have had major outages this week which has made my job very difficult. I can't troubleshoot client problems, and the outages create even more problems for my clients. It's a vicious cycle.
Our very COVID cautious good friends are now willing to hang out again because the parents are fully vaccinated, so we get to have Easter dinner together. We usually spend most holidays together, but hadn't for the last year. I'm excited.
Last year I started working with a client who turned out to be really scattered, chaotic, and demanding. He was unable to articulate what he wanted, but he wanted it NOW.
After I did I bunch of work for him, he changed his whole business model. Think... he’s a plumber, I built web site and social media around plumbing, and he decides he’s now an electrician. Wanted me to redo everything, but wouldn’t provide the necessary info for me to do so. Then he vanished around early September without a word, but after paying me for most of my work. And that was fine.
He texted me last week telling (not asking) me to start work again. I just... can’t. He is just so stressful. So I told him that my schedule wouldn’t allow me to pick his work up. A bit of a lie but I’m about preserving my sanity.
Also, I found the Easter stuff in the attic. I'm not normally organized enough to get stuff into the attic, but I must have been doing some pregnancy nesting last spring. I'm glad to not have to buy new baskets and eggs!
mae0111, breaking up with a terrible client is the best!
DDOT: My girls love April Fool's Day. This morning they left a few small pranks around my office and they've been threatening beau that they're going to get him tonight. Well, joke's on them. He just made them brownies with chunks of broccoli instead of chunks of chocolate chips to have for dessert tonight. Can't wait to see if they're suspicious or dive right in.

There is one way in and one way out of my neighborhood that involves crossing railroad tracks. Today on my way home from picking DS up from school, the train was stopped and the crew was walking the train. After talking to the lady in front of me who had spoken to the train crew, I decided to try to drive through the part of the development that is under construction but is connecting up with my neighborhood. As I back up to turn around, I backed into the car behind me that I didn't see. Luckily there wasn't any major damage and he didn't even want to exchange information. I still feel like an idiot. But I made it home by driving partly on sidewalks of the new development. I'm definitely buying a house on the other side of the tracks.

I’m really not an April Fools person, but I told my kids I made brownies and asked if they wanted some. They said yes, and I handed them each a piece of paper with the letter E written in brown marker. 😬
I got an email back from the principle regarding my request to have DD excused from Mrs D zoom class the week of April 15th. She is excused and as long as she turns in the work she won't be marked absent. Principle also wished us a smooth end to tax season. Within 20 minutes I got an email from her Mrs D saying that noise hasn't been an issue and that maybe she should try headphones that week instead of missing class. I just didn't engage and I'm not going to. I'm also stopping walking on egg shells in my own office during zoom school. F you lady! You complain about me having to much background noise during the IEP meeting.
