And we have our first semi-normal weekend (meaning busy) in over a year. Saturday is a play date with a friend of DS’s. Sunday is a backyard party with a little girl in DS’s class. DD has a party next weekend that we aren’t letting DS attend (it’s indoors at a trampoline place), so I don’t feel bad that she’s not having a lot to do this weekend.

We have a pretty busy weekend. I'm waiting to go into the chiropractor right now then I'm going to go run a few errands. DH is working late at his second job tonight so that's a bummer. Tomorrow I have a workout and breakfast date with my gym girls. DS has art and MIL will be taking him so DH and DD are going to be on their own for the morning. Then we have a bday party for our BFF's kid so that will be fun. Sunday I need to return some school pants I ordered for DS. I got the wrong fit for his skinny ass legs and he is swimming in them. Uniforms are one thing I am not going to miss about private school.
It's a beautiful day here, and tomorrow is supposed to be even nicer. I'm taking the kids to the playground after school today with a couple of friends. Tomorrow we have nothing really planned during the day, so I imagine DH and I will do some yardwork. I'd like to clean out the garage as well. Then we're heading to my parents' to cook out. We haven't seen them in a few weeks so it will be nice for the kids.
I'm less excited about seeing my mom. She went to visit my sister and new niece, and informed me that my niece has the "best disposition" of all of her grandkids. Translation - she's my favorite. I mean, my niece is super cute, but she's 6 months old. I don't know a lot of 6 month olds with crappy personalities. Whatever. It's not a surprising comment and is really not at all out of character.
Sunday is supposed to be crummy weather. DD2 has a soccer game (indoors - so one of us will sit in the parking lot and watch on our phone, while the other one watches from home).
The kids are all here and remote today because of teacher vaccine clinic round 2! The girls don't have any Zooms, just a bunch of worksheets and stuff to do, so they're actually almost done for the day. They'll spend the rest of the day outside I'm sure. It's beautiful here!
Tomorrow we'll do some kind of outdoor playdate with their BFF and her little brother who's the same age as beau's son. Thinking we may just go to one of the schools to use the playground then come back here to hang out. We'll definitely be doing s'mores with the new fire pit. Maybe an outdoor movie if it doesn't cool off too much in the evening. I'm looking forward to just hanging out outside all day as much as possible!
1. Would you attend and take your kids to a professional sports events? We are both vaccinated, and actually I work that day, so it would be DH and kids. Kids are obviously not vaccinated. Outside, capacity is 25%, seated 6 feet apart, and masked. I just feel like even with 25% it's still a lot of people, and I know not everyone wears the mask properly. But outside and masked makes me feel better. I would tell him to drive and not take public transit or a taxi. The hallways are also open air, if I remember correctly as in they would have pretty good ventilation while entering and exiting.
2. TTMA about leasing cars. With DH being so indecisive, I thought maybe it was better that he lease. Especially if he gets into the electric car situation which is what he wants because technology keeps improving. Normally, we are told never lease it is bad for your money yada yada. But I think it is worse to keep buying and trading in while underwater.
I’m exhausted just thinking about tomorrow.. Dog groomer at 8, soccer at 9, ice skating 10:30, vet at 1:15.
Sunday DD and I are getting haircuts for the first time in forever. I have to figure out what to do with my undercut. Most of my hair is boob length, but the bottom third is undercut and maybe an inch and a half long. I think I’m probably going to let it grow and look like a weirdo for summer. I’ve thought about hacking all the hair to make it transition nicer, but I want the ability to ponytail for workouts and the pool.
Monday is the start of spring break - I’ve got a massage and a facial scheduled and I’m so ready for it. Tuesday we leave for vacation. And I’m so ready for that too!
Yesterday was the longest we’ve left the pup (5ish hours) and next week will be Tuesday-Friday. He’s staying with a friend who does dog boarding... they’re making an exception for us, since they usually only do small dogs (pug sized) and I’m worried it will be his first and last stay with them. He is SO MUCH bigger than their dogs and she’s also going to be watching our neighbors 12lb King Charles cavalier (who happens to be TERRIFIED of Indy). I’m not sure how they’ll balance a house that’s puppy proofed for small dogs (no counter is safe from my fluff monster) and his high energy while dealing with 3 primarily lap dogs. Best case scenario though we come home and Indy and the neighbor dog like each other better.

I'm not sure what is happening tomorrow. Beau might go riding, but it depends on weather. If he does, DS and I will do something together. If he doesn't, the three of us will figure out something to do. Sunday, we're having a late Easter dinner with my parents.

Trees and flowers are blooming here, so I'm going to add clawing my eyeballs out to the agenda for the weekend. I normally don't feel this way until May, so it's going to be a long spring. I've been taking Claritin for 2 months already so I'm going to have to figure something out.
DD got invited to a play date with her little BFF tomorrow. She is going to lose her mind with excitement when she finds out she's going to his house.
One of DD's teammates mom is doing a surprise parking lot celebration tonight. Her DD turns 10 over the weekend and with no party she wanted to do a surprise cupcakes after practice with all the girls.
DH is on his way to friends for the weekend. He is putting a new garage door in for them and then they will play and be merry adults the rest of the weekend.
DD has her 2nd gymnastics meet tomorrow morning at 8am. She asked my dad to be my plus 1 spectator. Then we will come to work until I take her to her private lesson. Coaching staff is pushing again. Planning on take out for dinner Saturday night. Sunday is the last weekend day DD & I will be working this tax season!!!!

Yes. We took our kids to Disney this week. Everyone is masked and they are doing a good job with 6 feet in lines. Obviously walking around and in the pool, there isn’t as much social distancing but we are outside. My H and I are also vaccinated.
Phew, what a week! My sister and her friend and my two nephews (6 and 9) were in town. I tried to squeeze a normal workweek into 3 days (I took off Tuesday afternoon, Thursday afternoon, and all day today so I could host them and we could do fun stuff). The older kids had surf camp each day 9-12. And I got my second covid shot on Tuesday morning. Luckily no side effects except fatigue, but that could have just been from the craziness. We also still took the kids to their normal baseball and softball practices, and took DS1 to an afternoon birthday party one day.
My favorite thing we did was rent a cabana at a nice resort nearby with multiple pools and water slides. I left the baby at home with DH and the other 5 kids just ran around on their own while my sister and her friend and I relaxed and got pool food and drink service and the kids stopped by occasionally. It was also fun to rent out a movie theater.
So we’re mostly laying low this weekend. Tomorrow DS1 has baseball practice and DD has an evening softball game. Legoland is reopening on a limited basis and they’ll honor our recently expired annual passes, so I made a reservation for Sunday and we’ll try that. It’s only 20 minutes away, so we’ll go for a few hours in the morning before naptime.
Monday is the first day of 5 day per week school for us- yay! Only till 12:45 pm, but we were lucky enough to also get into aftercare till 4. It will be so amazing to schedule my work stuff without regard for what day of the week it is and what kid logistics I have to handle that day.

I would do that and I’m on the very cautious end of Covid risk.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
My car died yesterday. DD and I made it home safely but when I turned it off and fluffy white smoke started pouring out from the engine. My brother told me to not chance driving it again and with its age and mileage to just donate it.
I test drove a 2018 Honda pilot a couple hours ago but the dealer refused to negotiate the price. Listed price was what they were selling it for only. I'm going to test a brand new Honda Pilot when I'm done work so in an hour or so. They have 0% APR financing on new models and the new model is $6000 more than the 2018 I drove earlier. I'm doing this on my own as DH is still out of town and didn't even respond when I said the car died. I was going to just get rides to work with my dad and get DD rides to practice this week. Then my mom called and started in on me and I started sobbing and hung up on her. I didn't need the extra stress and DD made me a stress ball out of her chemistry craft box to make me feel better.
