I really want to upgrade to a king size bed. DH and I have not had any time to go mattress shopping, which seems like a huge overwhelming process. Costco has a Sealy mattress on sale this month for really cheap...like $500-something. They call it the “Mount Auburn”. Plus box spring is around $150.
I’m tempted, because we could just go buy it, it would be cheap, we would have it, and we would be done. We wouldn’t have to go through a big comparison shopping process and probably spend way more. But, would it be horrible? I don’t know. Reviews online are decent.

I don’t but we have a cheap in-store twin Sealy we bought from Costco 5 years ago and it’s seriously the most comfortable mattress we have in the house. We’ve fallen asleep with the kids on it, and sometimes if they fall asleep in our bed, I go sleep on that mattress alone 😆. As long as it has a pillow top and you get the box spring, I’m sure it will be fine. Ours doesn’t have a box spring, but it seems like that would be better for a larger mattress with two adults, unless you have a really good platform frame.

Some other options- ours is memory foam and we’ve had the bed in a box options. I like it but sometimes I feel like you sink in and it feels so comfy you don’t move enough so you wake up stiff. A friend just got a Purple mattress and said it’s amazing. I felt the little sample he had and it felt amazing but I didn’t want to be weird and be like can I see and lay on your bed?! That would have been weird, especially during covid.

I don't have the mattress, but if you decide not to go this route, you might consider a bed in a box mattress that is delivered to your door. We have a Nectar and absolutely love it. Our regular spring mattress was causing some back issues for both DH and I. The Nectar has gotten rid of that. There are about a million options online. I did some research and ended up with the Nectar because we both like a firmer bed, but you can Google which is best and get some good comparisons. Bonus: most of them (all?) have really good trial and return policies, if you decide a foam-type mattress isn't for you.
