I've been doing Orangetheory in a mask since November. It's really not that bad. If you are familiar with OTF they have been running 3G's so you have your own tread, rower and weights at your station. We have temp checks before each class, hand sanitize before we enter the studio and then wipe all of our own equipment down after we are done. At the end of each class they come thru and wipe everything down again. It has done wonders for my mental health and frankly I am surprised at my ability to sprint, fully masked on a treadmill. I have had a touch of asthma my whole life and it has done wonders for my lung function. I'm not going to lie, working out in a mask took some major getting used to but it was more important to me to go than to not go. We hand sanitize on the way out and then I do it again in my car. Most people now in my studio have had their first shot so soon most attendees will be fully vaccinated.
While OTF was closed I worked out at the local YMCA which moved all of their weights outside. It was OK, but they got pretty lax on the masks and cleaning so I stopped going. They had classes outside as well but I just wasn't as comfortable as going to them at that time.

I am vaccinated but I don't want to go back. I have gained a lot of weight and stupidly I don't want to go back to the small gym I'm a part of looking so different. Which is so dumb because I joined the gym and got fit from doing it. I mean, that's what they are for.
But there were a lot of people I used to see every day that I now never see and I do miss my gym.

I’ve been back too and feel really good about their setup. Haven’t heard of any transmissions and I’m pretty tight with the staff and coaches. Working out in a mask has been NBD, except for some of the longer endurance challenges (Catch Me If you can, 12 min run for distance). And the mental health benefits are huge for me. I got a peloton and I like it, but it’s not the same for me.

I have also been back at OTF (started in January after I was cleared from having my son). We are on every other equipment, masks the whole time, and everyone is really very good about wiping down. Then after class they do something to the whole room that seems like a big spray cleaner. I am surprised I am totally fine in the mask. Since I was pregnant and my baby born totally during the pandemic, this is literally my only me-time and I need it! A few times they have emailed us that someone in class had Covid but did not think they caught it in class, and there has not been a outbreak of anything.
My H is also back at Planet Fitness, masked. Though I was kind of surprised when he said they are NOT using only every other equipment.
I just went back this week (I am 2+ weeks past second vaccine shot). I have never in my life been so excited to go to the gym, lol. Our gym has good spacing and cleaning measures in place, but masks are only required while you are not working out. I have done weights and elliptical, and also a couple of high-intensity classes (not masked while exercising) and felt completely comfortable. But we are in an area with high vaccination rates, and everyone in out household is vaccinated.
I have been fully vaccinated since Feb.. but the owner of my gym was a complete ass about COVID. The town literally had to go in and shut him down. Gyms were shut down but he refused to close and was spreading all kind of Trump stuff and COVID nonsense on facebook. The fact that the town had to walk in and shut him down because he refused makes me not want to support his business.
BUT! It is so easy to get to and the price is good. I toyed with going back, but decided I just can't support his business because I doubt protocols are being enforced.
I am fully vaccinated and I have unvaccinated sons and I have been going to the gym since being vaccinated.
My friend is a doctor and I asked her and she said the benefits of going to the gym far outweigh the covid risks as a fully vaccinated, healthy, 38 year old woman.
