Our best friends are getting ready to have baby #2 and I'm putting together a gift basket for them. I was thinking it would be nice to include something small for their toddler to open, too? If so, do you have any ideas of what I should include? She will be 3 in July. We don't have kids so I have no idea what to include. I don't want to ask them because they will insist that we not put together a gift basket for them
Something the toddler can sit and do with mom while mom feeds the baby (assuming she is breastfeeding) or while dad feeds a bottle. Seek and Find books are good at that age, and the toddler can hold them and find the stuff with mom. Letting the toddler feel included instead of feeling like the baby is getting all the attention is good.
Water wow coloring books or color wonder markers with a color wonder coloring book. My 3yo loves both and I love that he can color unsupervised without worrying about coloring on the couch/walls/floor/etc.
I just got my almost 3 year old nephew a small gift bag with a few 24 piece puzzles (we love the Dollar Tree ones) a spill-proof bubble bucket, and a Water Wow book for a big brother gift. He loved it.
This is so thoughtful and will be very appreciated! My BFF sent a big box to us shortly after DD2 was born with something for all of us: Doordash gc for me and DH, bath stuff, lotion, chap stick and a book for me for me, cute onesies for baby and a new fun waterbottle for DD1. Oh, and a corgi zen garden lol
It literally made me cry when we got it, regardless of what was in it, it was just nice to know she had been thinking of us and collecting little things to send.
I agree with PP, I have some special things just for DD1 to play with when I have to focus on the baby. Stuff that requires little to no supervision like the color wow or just fun books are great!
