When do vaccine side effects kick in? I'm over here feeling totally fine and my second dose of Pfizer was yesterday at 2. I have a 9 a.m. I don't want to attend, so any time in the next 54 minutes would be clutch.
Lol. I'm sure that you could just say you are having side effects. Totally legit excuse.
I have posted several times about the trouble my son has had making friends in middle school. Last night he told me that someone invited him to go to get water ice after school on Friday. It's walking distance from the school, so theyd just go there instead of taking the bus home.
I am inordinately excited for him. This is sadly his first social interaction in a year that wasn't coordinated by me.
H had no side effects from either Moderna shot- most people don't! Maybe your arm was still too sore to attend, though.
DD finished her last virtual P.E. assignment yesterday, and I didn't believe it was the end until her "coach" emailed to tell her she'd completed the course. That class has caused so much stress this year- and it's so, so, so stupid. I would never recommend virtual P.E. at all, but I'll give it one star for the future laughs we're bound to have at the memories. We'll always have sunscreen on hot dogs.
If you are vaccinated and your coworkers are vaccinated, do you meet with them without masks? This seems to be the way we are trending at work and I think I'm ok with it, but also second guessing. I met with 3 different people this way yesterday. I think this is ok via the CDC guidelines, but I don't know if there are any recommendations about how many different people to be exposed to that way?
In my last meeting yesterday, my supervisor mentioned that I might end up doing some of the things that my leaving coworker did, and that we could potentially reclassify my position accordingly and get some extra money. She was at the exact same level as me, but I think the idea is that doing elements of both jobs would be a higher level job overall. So now my dilemma about a potential job change has a thickening plot. I don't think I'd pass up a promotion. The timing of all of this seems so off - I think 6 months from now when the dust settles a bit at my current job, this would feel more straightforward one way or another.
I got my Pfizer second dose yesterday morning and just feel a little under the weather today - slight headache, some slight body aches, and tender vaccine site. I’m hoping I’ll feel better by this afternoon because I want to pick up trash around the neighborhood for Earth Day. I want to enlist DD too so she can learn early to take care of her planet.

I’m pretty sure they are programmed to set in at exactly 9:05. Sorry meeting/appointment 😉😉😉
DS (12) is starting Invisalign today. One more thing for me to nag him about yahoooooo.....
I am NOT looking forward to this, my DD(also 12) just lost the last tooth the Ortho wanted to wait for.
She went from wanting Invisalign to wanting actual braces and now back to Invisalign.
I like the maintenance version of Invisalign and the fact that she will properly be able to clean her teeth without fear of having white “scars” on her teeth.
But fuck this kid is going to forget, throw out and misplace all the pieces. I’m expecting to pay for this shit twice.
I've got my second dose today (in about an hour) and I'm planning to take tomorrow off, just in case. That kind of guarantees that I won't have any side effects, but we'll see.

I'm 24 hours out from my 2nd dose of Moderna and still fine. If I make it thru tonight I think I'll quit questioning if everything my body does is a sign. I've been up doing stuff all AM and DH has told me to rest, so I'm going to lay down in a bit and watch a movie for the heck of it.

I desperately need some time off, but my new job doesn't offer much time the first year you're here and I need to save what I get for family stuff. They think they're being generous giving 5 days.

We still meet with masks and preferably meet over zoom. Our client base is very high risk, so we're cautious.
The dentist was a disaster yesterday with C. I had told them she’s afraid of loud noises so they didn’t use the suction. But they tried to take an X-ray first and the poor girl panicked. I don’t blame her. I hate biting down on that thing. I can’t imagine doing it in a tiny mouth. Eventually they quickly painted on some fluoride and gave up.
Does anyone use a pediatric dentist? Does it help with anxiety? My dentist said it might be worth a try but make sure not to go to anyone who uses a papoose board.

I had Moderna at 3pm on Monday. Tuesday woke up feeling fine but by noon had body aches. By 3pm had a fever of 102. Didn't feel better until around 8/9pm. lol. but I will hope for 9am for you

Oh I would 100% use a pediatric dentist! Ours is fantastic. They walk the kids through each of the instruments. So when they do the suction they show them how it feels on their hand. They show them what the water feels like and the air. They talk to them and sing funny songs (plus they get to watch cartoons). My kids have gotten some dental work done (teeth pulled, sealants) and they were practically laughing and making jokes the entire time, the dentist do a great job at putting them at ease.

The CDC recommendation specifically says that you can 'visit inside a home or private setting' without a mask, but to me, work wouldn't fit that description.
I got my second dose Pfizer vaccine on Monday, and my only reaction was a sore, stiff arm. It made no sense to me, since I kept doing everything that I could to keep it moving and loosened up, iced it, etc., and today is the first day that I didn't wake up with it stiff. I tried heat after the first 24 hrs, and that didn't really help either, although Ienjoyed it more than ice. lol
The soreness was more when I moved my arm than general soreness, but I kept moving it anyway to see if it would make a difference. It didnt.
I got my second Moderna shot yesterday after. Apart from a sore arm I feel fine. DS and I picked up trash in our neighborhood for Earth Day yesterday just in case I wasn't feeling well today.

Lucy Lima Bean is doing better with the dogs. I think she's going to be okay. She is very brave and ventures all over the house. She has found a couple tiny hiding places that she will run to if the dogs start bugging her, but she comes right out. She's eating a good amount and using the litter box like a champ.
My son is doing online school this year and they are doing their standardized testing today. It's like 45 minutes from my house, so I'm in a coffee shop for hours waiting for him. He's 15, in 10th grade, and for some reason, I was really sad leaving him there. He is not a good test taker. He's not gifted or anything, but he's quite bright and I hate when his scores come in and don't indicate that. I hate these tests. Also, they are not consistent. Before this year, he had to do MAP testing a few times during the year and those scores always showed that he at or above grade level. And then these end of the year tests scores come in and sometimes he scores a couple grades below in a subject or two.

circa1978 I had no side effects with either Moderna dose, but I worked from home for a few days just in case.
wildrice With the people in my office (all fully vaxxed) we meet without masks. I always start with a mask with others outside my office unless they suggest removing masks. I try to be courteous, but at this point I feel comfortable without a mask with other vaccinated people.

My son was terrible at the regular dentist. He had a super strong gag reflex, so he would basically barf any time they did anything. And the x-rays were horrible. When we got him into the pediatric dentist, everything changed. They have tiny stuff for tiny mouths and the hygienists were really good with kids. He is 15 and just stopped going 2 years ago.
I felt like I got run over by a bus after my second Pfizer shot. Body aches like the flu, but no fever. I'd say it began mildly about 24 hours after and continued for about 24 hours after that.

I have a hair appt this afternoon and I can hardly wait. It's just to get it highlighted and colored, but it's been so long since I've done more than just cover my gray at my roots, and I'm excited for the change.

Definitely go to a pediatric dentist. We just got back from our visit and everyone who works there is so wonderful. The really do a great job of walking the kids through every step of the visit.
