Personally, if I was spending the money on a high end bag, I would want something classic that would age with me and be a versatile option to use for most seasons. Is this a bag you'll carry every day, or only on special occasions? If you're looking more for every day, then I'd go with a slightly larger size than one you'd take out with you, say, for a night out on the town (when that's possible again, womp womp). I like crossbody option bags since they are easier to carry and use for me.
Sounds like you've decided on Gucci, though, so that's at least one decision made!

Thank you all so much for your suggestions on bags specifically but also your questions on use, style etc. It was exactly what I was looking for.
You all helped me expand my thoughts and I have enjoyed seeing what styles you all like too! I love seeing this kind of thing. Thank you so much for sharing!
If you have more favorites or ideas I love seeing them!
Let me know if you want me to link some great IGs that post pre-loved bags. TBH I trust them more than the sellers on fashionphile because I still have seen too many stories of people ending up with fakes, bags not as they advertised, etc.
Dang this thread. I had the Pochette Metis in my shopping bag earlier this month and I backed out of buying it - now I want it again.
The navy one of this is on my list, but I'm worried that the bag will be too heavy. I have a siena PM and sometimes it feels too heavy for a full day out. I don't have that issue with my speedy B 25 though.

Yes! Please or dm me but if you feel comfortable sharing that would be so great!

My hesitation was that it would not fit my sunglasses case in there. I wear prescription sunglasses and like to have enough space for that and a full size wallet.
I also like the Montaigne MM, but do I really need another bag?
foundmylazybum,, I have personally bought from JuliaRoseBoston and HERAuthentic, both through IG. Julia's prices are higher, but she has a huge following and can get some amazing pieces.
Also follow foxylv on IG. She will sometimes post info on reputable resellers and CAs for LV with stock.
I own a similar one in smooth leather (not Saffiano) and I carried that thing every day for 5 years. I still have it, but it's pretty beat up at this point. I bought it with money that my grandfather left me (I couldn't justify the price otherwise)--the amount kept changing over the time that the estate was settling, and by the time I received it, I got much more than I thought I was going to, ergo, my extravagant purchase.

While I was shitposting for LOLs before I just want to say to go for it! I love looking at luxury bags and if I didn’t prefer to spend my disposable money on luxury marijuana I’d be all over it. If I had infinite $$$ though...

I used to have the siena PM (until it got stolen - that's a story for another day) and I agree with you that it was too heavy.

Do it! 😆 it’s a really great bag. I have one in Empreinte and had the reverse monogram (before selling it). I kinda regret selling that one and now have it back on my wish list.

It’s not heavy IME. I carry a full zippy wallet, keys, iPhone, some snacks for my kid, hand sanitizer and maybe a small toy (again for kid) and it’s super comfortable. I found the one in monogram to be heavier.
The Siena MM I have is way heavier and doesn’t sit well as a crossbody for me. I hardly use it.

It should fit. The two compartments are actually very roomy.
I just picked up the Montaigne. If you want the Montaigne, buy it quick because they’re being phased out.

on IG, I follow: LoveMyLVoe (she has a nice variety of designers and her prices are decent)
LVLenka (I've purchased a few items from her in the past and have also used her to consignment services)
Paula_Closets (her bags are always in excellent used condition or even new condition)
Purseblog also is one of my go-tos for in depth reviews of bags. Her review of the new LV Coussin is what convinced me to call in an order to my client advisor.
Once you start you’ll never stop. Lol. My favorite is my Hermes Evelyne. They’re not much more pricy than a lot of the other bags listed and it is so versatile. Ignore the poor quality of the photo. Apparently I need Tapatalk premium for full resolution.

It's my favorite of all the bags I've purchased in the last year, which has been more than I care to admit.

I totally missed your post! I’ve spent a large part of today organizing my purses and wallets. I realized that I have way more than I need but I can’t part with any.
Those of you that have a Neverful, do the handles soften up? I just bought my first one from the recent LV Pool collection (my first new bag - everything else had been purchased pre-loved), and I'm not liking how it feels on my shoulders if I'm in a sleeveless top. They're so stiff. I've only carried it once but am feeling like it was a mistake despite the fact that it's absolutely gorgeous.

I’ve had mine a little over a year and I’m not a fan of how it feels on my bare shoulder. I also wish the handles were a TAD longer because it feels like the bulk of the bag is directly under my armpit when it’s over my shoulder.

Ok thanks. That's good to know. It is beautiful but I'm not sure I'll be happy with it in the long term and am considering returning it or selling it since it's not easily available. Just not sure it's the right bag for me. I agree on it sitting right under my armpit as well.
I was just thinking I cannot BELIEVE people spend three THOUSAND dollars on a handbag then I remembered I bought myself a $3k bicycle for my last birthday lol. I suppose it’s all about what you love!
Just a word about Fashionphile (and I'm sorry it this has already been mentioned, but I didn't read all the posts)-- sometimes their prices for very popular styles in some brands, especially LV, are well over retail for that item new from the retailer.
For instance, the LV Multi Pochette Accessoires in the monogram is $2,050 at louisvuitton.com (though it is currently out of stock online. However, a local boutique may have it.) On Fashionphile, depending on the condition, it runs $2,450 to $2,860.
I love Fashionphile, btw. I bought two Balenciaga City bags for more than 70% original retail and they are in fantastic condition. But LV, YSL, Chanel, Hermes, Dior are all going to probably be more than retail in some cases because that hold their value and they are super popular.
I have LV, Balenciaga, Longchamp, Dior, Celine, lots of vintage Coach, and my most used bag of everything is the Longchamp Le Pliage Club tote in medium. I think it's the perfect starter for luxury brands. Longchamp has some gorgeous all-leather bags that are just fantastic.
The tote is a work horse and looks beautiful all the time. It's a perfect work bag for non-formal work setting. I would recommend getting an organizer for the inside. I use this one from Amazon.
Is it luxury enough? Eh, I don't know. Some people would think so. Others wouldn't. But it is quality.

I have the MM in DE and mine did soften, but it’s 8+ years old now.
