Maybe they are doing it so that you know that area was cleaned? It's not a good reason, but it's a reason.
Sometimes when I fold towels I leave them in a stack so that DH sees that I folded something. If I just put them away then he'd never know and then what would be the use of me folding them?
I don't think our cleaners move our coffee table when they clean and they are the worst at making beds. But they clean the heck out of our bathrooms and kitchen, which is what I really love/hired them for.
And now this is making me sad since I paid for cleaning today but have the kids home from school sick and won't get to enjoy a clean house.

I'm trying to convince DH that we need to do a one-time deep clean. I am thinking of asking for it for Mother's Day and then seeing how he likes the results so we can keep them, haha.
We haven't had our cleaners back since the pandemic started.
I always cleaned before they came, which is dumb. And I didn't want them doing laundry or changing sheets. Then I would spent time rearranging stuff back. The place looked the same level of pre-cleaning clean a day later ( 2 kids) because we clean more than once a week, so essentially the cleaner was just doing the cleaning once a week that we do normally the other days of the week).
I think what we really need is to just hire someone to do a deep clean- wash the windows and screens and baseboards, vents, wash the walls, etc. once a season.
We haven't had cleaners in 6+ years, but they used to leave my picture frames, books, and remotes that were out in mild disarray. It was slightly annoying but I figure they clean so many places they probably aren't paying attention to who like to line things up at parallel to the edge of a table and who likes things at angles, so I would just fix it myself when I got home. Even my H doesn't get my stuff back correctly when he dusts.
The only thing I ever asked them to stop doing was changing out the garbage bags. Our garbage day was the same day they would come for cleaning, so I we had always had empty or nearly empty garbage bins in our bathrooms and office, and the waste of replacing the liners when they had just been replaced the night before was too much for me.
That would drive me crazy. Granted I've never had cleaners lol. If it was decor just placed differently then I wouldn't be bothered, but whole furniture that is obviously out of place I would say something about. That's like half the job of cleaning is then putting things back.
