I just finished this last night after spending an hour on the phone with Cricut, getting my machine working again! It says, "Dogs leave pawprints on our hearts." Sorry it's huge, it wouldn't upload at the smaller size.
I wish I could figure out how to post pictures. My old method doesn't work anymore.
I just finished crocheting a baby blanket for a new arrival in our family. That took forever, I don't want to do another blanket (jokes on me, I've already got another planned that's even bigger).
For the same baby, I found a cute swaddle gauze remnant and I don't know what I want to do with it. It's 3/8 yd x WOF. Bib backed with terry? Burp cloth backed with terry? Lovey backed with minky or coordinating gauze? Some combination of all of the above?
I went on a sewing blitz last weekend after a month of 50+ hour work weeks and no time to myself.
I made a romper and headband for my friend’s baby, as well as a larger romper for DS, two skirts and a tshirt for DD, and a jersey fabric bra for myself! It is super comfy and stretchy.

I’ve been more prolific! I’ve made two jersey bralettes using the George+Ginger LBB pattern. Here is the one I made with a nursing hack for my expectant sister:
I’ve also made a little dress for my niece using the Ellie and Mack Breezy Dress pattern:
I feel like I’m the only one in here this month. Everyone else must be gardening!
This is my 5th and most successful bra to date from the past month. It’s a Cloth Habit Watson bra done up with cut and sew foam. It doesn’t have an underwire but offers really good structure and support.
I still need to work on my elastic application (I have some gaping under my armpits) but I’m really proud of the finish on this. I have made and taken apart two of the same pattern trying to work out sizing. @@@ I’m 6 months post breastfeeding so my breast tissue is still really soft and I’ve been having a terrible time without access to stores finding RTW bras. I’m quite pleased that I have mostly figured this out. And it’s comfy!
I don't have as much time to sew as I'd like, but boy do I have a long list of projects I want to accomplish!
Here are some of the things I've both finished and taken pictures of:
A "muslin" of a dress I was excited to try. I used an old flat sheet to make it, then decided to try shibori tie-dying. Love the dye job, but the dress is too big and pretty unflattering.
Monogrammed beach towels for end of year teacher gifts.
Cropped, off-the-shoulder boxy tee for DD. Made it last night and surprised her this morning. She was so pumped!

Not gardening, at a really low point mental health wise. Good and bad, I quit my toxic job, so that anxiety source is gone, but now replaced with "I'm not empolyed and have no paycheck coming in" anxiety. If you don't mind me asking, what size bra is this/do you wear? I need some new bras, would rather make than buy, but I'm leery of how well some of these patterns will fit. I looked it up and this pattern calls for knit fabric but you used foam instead? Did you have to make any adjustments to the pattern?

Sorry to hear that the stress is having an impact on your activities. I basically had three months of doing nothing through the winter between work and just wanting to sit still and I’m trying to make up for lost time. I hope things start improving for you mala.
As far as the bra sizing goes, it’s a bit of a mess. I made this in a 38C. I need to modify the outer cup a bit more because my tissue is a bit wider than that. The pattern sizing says I should be a 38B, which I made initially in a stretch fabric but it felt too small. I’m 5 months post breastfeeding so my tissue is all soft and loose since I’m down like two cup sizes from Christmas and who knows what is going on.
I’m about to try the wired Maya bra from AFI patterns (it’s free). It says I should be a 40AA which is very questionable. I am starting with a 40B there and will toile it to see what happens.
mala if you are curious, I just received a package of underwires to try on from Emerald Erin’s Etsy store. I am definitely not a 38 cup and more likely a wide 40. So I think what I need to do is remake the Watson again with a 40B, but grade the band down to a 38. It looks as though my boobs are a wide oval shape, which apparently is pretty rare, so I’m going to have to go on a bit of a hunt to find the perfect underwire. This also explains why I always have issues with wires digging in at the side of my boob in RTW styles, and why I always buy wireless. Also explains why I have so much gapping under the armpits on my current version, since my tissue is pushing the bra wider than it should be.

I’m sorry I keep posting everyone but I am super proud of this make:
It’s a foam lined underwire bra in a size that fits shockingly well based on me just guesstimating it. I’ve learned so very much about my boobs in the process of making these 6 bras and reading a billion blog posts and watching YouTube videos. I could seriously spend an hour discussing how to fit a bra perfectly now (this is my enginerd side showing). If I make this pattern again I will make some minor tweaks but it is a 100% wearable and comfortable toile, as I wore it all day. This was the free Maya pattern from Atelier AFI.
I’ve since gone on to buy all the elastics, wires and findings I would need for a skin tone bra, and also bought the black beauty bra pattern from Emerald Erin, which I think will resolve most of my fit issues right out of the gate (I need a narrower bridge, more splayed cup, and I want the power bar effect to move more of my tissue to the middle since I am wide set to begin with.
I’m far too excited. I cannot believe how well this thing turned out. Also sewing with shiny black thread on shiny black material is hell on earth when you need to unpick something.
aprilsails- Amazing and inspiring! I've watched all the videos on how to make sure I'm wearing the correct size and it still sucks to find a bra that kind of fits.

Seriously winecat. I haven’t had a proper fitting bra in a long time and i haven’t been able to go to a store here in 4 months. I got sick of it after ordering two supremely ill fitting bras online that I couldn’t return. So I’ve taken matters into my own hands. Turns out I am very unlikely to find something that would fit right in the store anyway since my boobs are wider at the base than the standard sizing associated with my band or cup.
