We brought home a bunch of grout samples to look at for our kitchen backsplash, with the granite/etc. in the space. Those tile pieces are all bullnose, but we have all the 2x9 and bullnose in the garage to do the backsplash now.
^In this photo the 2x9 that we ultimately chose is on the board leaning against the window. I think it had white grout.
What do you think for grout color? I think #3 is not gray enough with the wall color, but I could be talked into any of 1, 2, and 4.
ETA I agree with the pp that the grout needs to blend with the tile (unless you’re intentionally going for contrast. 2 seems to do that, but if 3 is a closer match then I’d do that. If the grout doesn’t go well with the wall color then it would worry me that the tile also doesn’t go well.
On looks alone, I was probably leaning toward 1/2, which it sounds like 2 is the probable consensus here... but then I was worried about it being harder to keep looking clean. I've always preferred dark grout over white because I didn't worry so much about spatters from cooking, etc. cleaning up perfectly with ease. 4 would be more in that direction.
I'm planning to do really thin grout lines, so whatever I choose will not be as obvious as the plastic sample pieces.
2. I like a little contrast. We have white with light gray in our backsplash and I love it. Our master bath, on the other hand, is just too white for me because we chose white grout.
