Does anyone have a bike rack they love? We’re looking for one that fits 2-3 bikes, can mount on a trunk (not the roof) and is easily removable. The car is a Camry, so (from what I was told) most brands should work. Budget is flexible.
There is only one I'd recommend--a Saris Bones. Plug your car info. into their search, and you'll come up with all compatible racks. The Bones comes in 2 and 3 bike configurations. Check the Facebook Marketplace near where you live; sometimes you can find them secondhand.
for a rogue or any other small SUV, I'd seriously consider getting a hitch installed rather than having the rack ont he back door. For me, with what I do with my bikes, not having access to the rear of my vehicle while I have bikes mounted would get so goddamn annoying. But it's not that expensive to get a hitch put in. Just remember that just because you have a hitch receiver doesn't mean you can tow things....
That's what I did on my Venza. Cost me $180 in a HCOL area (which isn't no moneies...but being able to tilt my bike rack out of the way and get to my shit in the back of my car is worth that to me by a lot).
And then I think I have a thule bike rack similar to the one you linked (I've had it for long enough I couldn't tell you what model it was, and it looks a little differetn now anyway) - it's very solid. I have no thing bad to say about mine.
I do sometimes think about whether I'd want a platform style rack though. the hanging racks struggle with bikes with weird geometry. Like if I ever get the long-tail e-bike I want - it won't fit on this rack. the kids bikes can't really go on it until they go up at least one more size. My IL's beach cruisers go on it WEIRD. etc. the platform style racks can handle more variation in size and geometry.

This never even occurred to me and I have no idea why. I would be far more likely to regularly use a rack that goes on a hitch too. I won’t leave the rack on all the time and I imagine the trunk ones are a bit of a pain to take off and attach with any regularity.
isabel Get the hitch. Don't think about it. You'll need to decide if you want a 1.25" or a 2" hitch. Look at the racks you are considering and see if they support one or both of those hitch sizes. I recommend either Kuat or 1Up racks. Both are really good--pricey but amazing.

I'm currently shopping for a hitch bike rack and immediately thought of you.... then I saw this post, lol! Do you have any preference between these two?
cuadrado Get the 2" hitch for sure. Both racks are great! The 1Up is a bit more compact and doesn't stick out as far, so it may be a better choice for a small sedan. You can buy one and add on more racks depending on how many bikes you need to carry. The Kuat comes in several models and 2 and 4 bike configurations. You can't go wrong with either. I can tell you customer service from Kuat is truly amazing.
Also make sure that either rack has adapters available for the bikes you will be carrying if they aren't "regular" size adult bikes like a small child's bike/toddler bike, a "fat tire" mountain bike, a Penny Farthing, etc.
